Just got the call at about 2100 tonight. Apparently he was having chest pains. He's more comofrtable now but they're going to inject him with radium ink to check for blockages tomorrow. A little good kharma this way would be nice.

Roger that and been there. :(
Best wishes and hang in there.
Got your six...Spiritually anyway.
Hope everything goes well.
I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.
All my hopes and prayers for your father's fast return home healthy and happy.
Sorry to hear he's sick, BC. Hope he gets better soon.
My prayers will be with you. Same thing happened to my dad a month ago (two weeks after the burglary I was venting about back then, actually, and yes we think they were related). Turns out my dad's coronary arteries were in pretty bad shape, blockage-wise; in fact, the anterior descending was 100% blocked, though it was getting backfilled from elsewhere so my dad was still alive (the anterior descending gets refered to as "the widowmaker" in medical circles).
All in all, we were increadibly fortunate. My dad went through a quadruple bypass for those badly constricted and blocked arteries, but there was no measurable imparement to heart performance from the heart attack. He is home, up on his feet, and recovering nicely (you can tell by the fact that he's sick of being sick). And now we know what all that persistent "acid reflux disease" was really about; my dad never experienced the classic chest pains at all.
So I know how stressfull this can be for everyone in your family, BC, and we'll be pulling for your dad (and the rest of you) around here.
And everyone else, get some exercize, watch what you eat, and get a lipid profile; often times hospitals will have health fares and you'll be able to get one for $25 or so. It's a moderate investment for good health.
As my dad said when we were taking him home from the hospital, "I advise avoiding this experience if at all possible.":D

Good luck from over here. I hope he gets better soon :)
All my hopes and prayers, BC. :)
We'll be thinking of you, BC... keep us informed.
Good Luck!
I know how you feel BC. Truely I do. I sincerely hope that fortune favours you and your dad more than it did me.
My thoughts and sympathies are with you. Here's for a speedy recovery.
Best wishes to you and your dad. I hope he recovers quickly.
BC, best of luck to you, and your father, and best wishes for a quick and complete recovery.
Well...they installed a shunt in the back of his heart. The photos showed the pinching of the veins, but the replacement looks good. He should be okay
I know I'm a bit late, but, like many others here, I have been through this situation myself - both with father and meaningful role-models. Wonderful to hear that the prognosis is good; and here's hoping that the road to recovery is a short and uneventful one. :)
