Good, if slightly confusing stuff :D
Just a quick query.. I seem to recall (my books are a little dusty :)) that languages are a skill group.. I.e. you pay for each one seperatelly: I didn't think you buy 'languages' and then buy specialities for each language, because then that means you can speak ALL languages, but have speciality in the one's you picked.. However you could confer a synergy bonus when trying to understand a language. it generally states that there are no specialities for languages, but then you could have a dialect as a speciality (English 3 [Scottish=2]) For Scotty for example :)
it's not a perfect system because the same could really be said for all of the knowledge groups, but then geography is geography.. having a good working knowledge of Earth geology means you might understand another planet better, and as a GM you simply set a higher target number if it isn't covered in yoru specialities (I.e. you've never been there before!)
