This is far from finished. I reckon I need to up-gun the ship, in addition to adding the SS/SCU allocations for the drop-pod tubes and storage facility. Chances are that by the time this is done, the class will have risen from XI to perhaps XIII (it was oringinally intended to be a class IX cruiser!) :eek:

OK, latest version of the tenacious class; it's up-gunned, and had to be raised to a class XIII size :eek:
I've yet to do the manual adjustments regarding the drop tube allocations in this version, but thoughts and opinions are welcome none the less :D

OK, for my USS Tenacious heavy Patrol Cruiser class concept and stats, I now need to draw up deck plans. I figure that this is probably the more straight forward method of conjuring up the external view of the ship, so I need to know the following, in the vague chance that someone has the information I need!
Is there a general list of the space (squares) required for all components of a Trek ship? if so, where?
I need to know this so as to allocate the right amount of space to each section, i.e., crew and troops quarters, messing, standard space for beam and missile weapons (by type), MARA (Matter/Antimatter Array), engine nacelles (by type), impulse drives (by type), computer cores (by type), and so on.
Oh, and I already know about the table in the FASA "Ship Construction Manual", but it's none too detailed, to say the least. Typical entries in that table (SCM, 2nd Ed, pp 34) read "Variable" for most of the key areas, I'm sorry to say.
I was hoping that someone has a more detailed requirements table that relates to FASA, as I've already been pointed to the "SciFiOne - JohnB Shipyards - Plans Index" at http://chem.csustan.edu/JTB/PLANS/plans-index.htm which is highly complex and detailed, but not at all linked to the FASA material
Here's hoping someone has what I'm looking for, anyhow

Inspiration hit me as I woke up a few days back; I did a google search using the search terms FWB-2 length: So before I shoot off to work ( no rest for either the wicked, or lowly bus drivers, here in the UK!), here's the result, in case anyone's interested:

Nacelle Length - 103 metres
Warp Engine Type - FWB-2
Speed Max Cruise/Emergency - 7/8
Notes - Saucer 71 m dia Only a part of the overall beam of 80 m
It's a start :)
Now, given that the crewing of this ship is 89 Officers, and 358 Enlisted ranks, there's going to be a substantial number of crews quarters; to draw up a realistic (i.e. plausible) deck plan, one needs to know what grades of rank there are, and in what numbers (affects size of crew berth, and if you don't think that Rank Hath Its Privilages, what planet do you come from? ;) ), so attached is the crew manifest for the Tenacious Class (Thoughts on this would be appreciated, btw) - enjoy :)
Oh, and by the way - I *know* the Crew Manifest doesn't include the troops and their officers - I'm still working on that ;)

OK, Deck one plans (Draft) now available.

Here's what I'm doing - I've a rough idea of how the ship is going to look like, but to avoid problems, I'm designing it from the inside out, so deck plans get done first, THEN the general schematics.
The design package for the deck plans is IMSI's FloorPlan Plus/3D v2.0a. The plans are then transferred into Paint Shop Pro (v7XE), messed about with on the presentation side, then converted to PDFs.
There's most probably a damn sight easier way to go about it, but this is the method I'm using ;)
Comments on this deck plan appreciated, both good and bad.
