GPD question

Just got GPD 4e (to go with the 3e version), and GURPS Klingons and Romulans. while looking over GPD I came to have this question:

How do you build a security officer? There does not seem to be a professional certification for this position. I am assuming these are the "old style" security officers. Do they use Marines in this role on ship? (There is a Marine academy template and the like)

Marines are security officers in PD. The writers of PD tend to use the tradition of Marine Troops as ships security
