The Thin Red Line: ST:TNG (Icon) PBEM, Players Wanted
The year is 2365. The Federation has known a long era of peace. It's core
worlds have been a haven of domestic tranqulity, where the citizens of the
Federation enjoy the utopia their ancestors fought and died to create. Huge
starships, designed for peaceful exploration, push outward into the new,
unexplored reaches of the galaxy, investigating unusual stellar phenonmena,
and evaluating the potential of younger races to join the Federation.
But that isn't for you. That isn't what this campaign is about.
On the traditional borders of the Federation are enemies that have been
guarded against for two hundred years. The Romulans. The Klingons - despite
this wonderful new peace treaty. The Kzinti - five wars in two hundred
years. The Gorn, the Orion Pirates, the enigmatic Tholians. The
Cardassians - twenty years of border fights. The Tzenkathi. All along the
old borders of the Federation, borders that have stood stationary for
centuries.
This part of space doesn't need diplomats, peacemakers, scientists or
explorers. It needs warriors. Six generations and counting. Names like
Styles, Decker, Sulu, Flynn, Jellico, Riley and Garrovick. The legends and
heroes that the Federation doesn't like to admit to. It might make the Core
Worlders nervous.
They don't get the good ships. They don't get the best people. They fight a
forgotten war with no battles, no glory, no honour, no medals.
Only casualties.
