Mike, I don't know of any way to change a username, but you can have it deleted entirely.
If you have two email addresses, I suggest you create a new ID using the second email, then ask Don to delete the old one. When Don gets around to it (Don's a busy guy, and you aren't nearly at the top of his list), you can then change the email address for your new ID back to the one you'd prefer using.
