Question about Spacedock
Hi everyone!
I am afraid to sound like a complete newb here but I am still kind of new to the LUG system, and I was FEVERISHLY looking for the stats for the Danube class runabout. Now I couldnt find it in any of my books (somehow even the UFP sourcebook dont have it). Now I heard about the Spacedock files and was lucky to get my hands on them, including the new Starship Recognition Manuals.....
Unfortunately, its all very foreign looking to me =(. It seems to look more detailed yeah, but it is confusing the heck out of me. How do I convert these new rules to the standard LUG rules that I am so used to? I probably wouldnt mind using the new SpaceDock rules, but.... I mean, I have no idea how to incorperate all these things. None of the books show me how to incorperate them. I mean are the rolls even the same anymore for targeting and everything, or is it a complete new system?
Can someone give me a hand maybe on where to look?
Thanks

Hmm ok I found the section for "Starship combat" in the one spacedock book. Like I said, still pretty complicated. Until I get more aquainted with these rules, could any of you make a good suggestion for how a Danube Class Runabout would look statwise for the original LUG rules?
Thanks

Wouldn't this be more appropriate in either the Icon system foum or the Spacedock forum since you want to use Spacedock and LUG stats and rules? You'll probably get answers a lot quicker if you ask the right group of people...the ones that use the rules you are asking about!

Danube class stats are in the DS9 corebook, in the starships section.

Thanks. Unfortunately thats exactly the book I am missing =(.
Well, will try to get my hands on it somehow, thanks for the info....

You can find Conversion Rules for the basic Icon System on the last pages of Spacedock. It boils down to this: A lot of systems do not Figure in the basic System at all or have to be divided by ten. (Ok this is probably a really simple explanation)

Would anyone object if i just posted the stats?

I dont want to be a burden... I mean I can try to convert it back from Spacedock, though spacedock also sugests it wont be the same thing. I dont know how fast I can get my hands on a DS9 corebook atm, so I will have to wait a while for that to materialize. Stats would be welcome, but like I said, dont want to ask for anything that might be frowned upon.... still new here =p

I have no problem with it, as it's from an OOP book from a company that no longer exists that you can only buy used. It's a good book, though–I recommend getting it in general. I mean, Klingon template! How could the TNG core lack that?
So, moddy guys, what's your take?

Hmmmmm still havent gotten an answer yet =(.

I think The T-King is waiting for a moderator reply if it would be cool to post the most likely still copyrighted material here in an open forum.
Anyway: I think that T-King can safely send you a PM with what you're looking for. Than it's not in the open accessible by everyone and you get what you need.
I second the idea of giving you the klingon template as well.
Try to get your hands on a DS9 corebook someday.
There are some new Trill rules there as well. The DS9 book is IMO probably the best of the three LUG Trek corebooks, although the book TNG will always have a special place in my heart, being the first Trek RPG pages I ever owned (from a live system then anyway...)
If and when I get home this week-end I might take a look on my shelf and try to locate my copy and give you at least the Danube class stats per PM to start you off ;)

That they are out of print unfortunately doesn't matter when it comes to copyright law.
But a PM with just the stats, and no describing text, should be close enough to fair use.
And the DS9 book is definitely worth to track down. :)
