Vacation Reading Material (Input wanted!)

I will be going on vacation rather soon, and every time I take too much RPG stuff with me. Stuff that I wanted to read, stuff I wanted to read again, or something, that I have come across only recently. The amount of space reserved for actual, physical books is somewhat limited.

So I ask for your input here: What RPG stuff would you advice me to take along?

I have a blue cargo box, in which most of my RPG books fit securely and easily. It has space for a number of max. 8 books I guess. Two of these spaces are reserved for two german RPG books, that I wanted to take a look at for quite some time now.

I will make this a poll, offering some books that are available (and that I'm in the mood to read). Right now this is not a time for Babylon 5 or Stargate RPG...

The TNG Corebook is still one of my favourite RPG-books. The layout matches the tone of the series perfectly and the writing is well either. I especially like the write-up about the Discovery and her crew.

The other good read from ICON is the UFP-Sourcebook. It has interesting infos in Federation History and its filled with episode ideas - not to mention the bunch of new starships.

I actually like the DS9 and TOS corebooks more... I think the TNG book suffers a little from being the first out of the gate–similar to parts of Planets of the UFP, the Neutral Zone campaign and the First Line. Something about not yet pinning down what they want to do with the game.

YES! ;)

I suggest a complete departure from your listed choices. Pick up something like the new Basic Roleplaying or Hunter: The Vigil. Grab the entire Scion trilogy. Take something massive and indie like Burning Empires or Houses of the Blooded. Explore a new take on a classic game, like Trail of Cthulhu. Delve into games inspired by literary or comics sources, like Ghosts of Albion or Artesia: Adventures in the Known World. Dive into Asian culture with Qin: The Warring States or The Blossoms Are Falling. Hell, take a PDA or laptop with you, and you can carry them all in PDF form. :)

Heart of Darkness and Castle of Otranto.

Being biassed, I voted Coda hehe, but actually I agree with RaconteurX - pick up Hunter the Vigil (and the WoD core book otherwise it won't make much sense) White wolf splat books are a 'good read' in general, and might make for some cool games, if you're into the genre :)
