History:
Some of the more heavily used cruisers of the Romulan Navy, the V-8 was the first class to use heavy Type II Plasma Torpedoes, which were used successfully to take down numerous Federation and Gorn bases in small numbers. One of these, the Invictus, was used to destroy three Earth border outposts before being attacked by the nearest Starship, the Enterprise, being badly damaged in the engagement and self-destructed by it's commander.
The V-8 was given an upgrade as more Klingon technology was traded to the Romulans, and was soon used to an incrasingly minor extent, eventually being fully retired in 2312.

Atomic Missiles:
Some V-2s, V-5s, and V-6s, along with the various U-30 range vessels were given a small number of atomic missiles to use in emergency situations when the Plasma Torpedoes ran out, represented as follows:

History: A Science vessel heavily used by the Romulan Star Navy, and on occasion, civilian researchers, the Deral is a highly capable scout vessel, with good sensors and laboratories, and the ships will continue on for at least another twenty years before being replaced with an improved class of research vessel.
