History: The Rubicon Class was developed to replace the Danube and Nile class runabouts, as well as the Peregrine and Ju'Day Class Fighters, with the intention to do the missions of all of them using some new advances in technology, such as advanced AI, a new dual-mode series of Phaser Strips, and a miniaturised version of the Type 2 Deflector Shield System.
The Runabouts will gradually replace the older vessels over the next twenty years, and will themselves be replaced by the Shadowdancer Class Runabouts in the 2450.

History: The Endeavor Class was an early attempt to use new technology, although unlike the later Enterprise Class, it didn't go all the way to the new technology, with some things, such as the navigational deflector and impulse engines remaining more or less the same as on the Mk II Constitution Class. The prototype, U.S.S Endeavor, NCC-1895 was the only vessel to be an all new construction, the rest (Achernar, Quindar, Rigel), being upgrades of old Constitution Class vessels, performing no better than the Constitution and Cesario Class vessels at long range exploration, and easily exceeded by the Enterprise Class vessels, the only thing notable about them being grreatly improved recreational facilities.
The Endeavor Class was retired after a basicly regular service life in 2324.
