Gurps to LUG

Similar to another thread in this forum. Has anyone worked with methods to convert GURPS to LUG rules?

I've never played with GURPS, but I've seen the Babylon 5 races created for that system & I always wondered how they'd translate to ICON.

Okay... I could probably whip out a handy conversion for you, but before I go through all of that (hmm..actually I have converted some GURPS Aliens races to LUG so I guess there wouldn't be that much "whipping" involved)...

If you have access to any of the White Wolf Game Studios to GURPS books (GURPS Vampire: The Masquerade, GURPS Werewolf: The Apocalypse, GURPS Mage: The Ascension, etc) you can use the conversion process provided there to *tweak* a GURPS to LUG conversion since WW uses a (usually) 1 to 5 rating for attributes and abilities. For GURPS advantages and Disads, try dividing the GURPS cost by 5, in general that will work for you.

Ex: GURPS High Pain Threshold is 10 points, LUG High Pain Threshold is 2 points.

If that just doesn't do it for you, I guess if you catch me in a dull moment I might give you a fully workable conversion for what you need...but it would be just as easy for you to decide what Bab 5 races should be like and build them in LUG points like the PG outlines.

Specifically, I'm interested, in the Minbari, Narn & Centauri. If it's not a problem, the Drazi, Pak M'ra, Gaim & Brakiri.

I might give the Minbari, Narn & Centauri a go by myself & see what happens. I'm doing this more just to learn how to write than anything else, which I've been hesitant to do. I'll give it a go though. Never learn until you try, and practice is part of a learning process with any skill. I'll see what my mind can cook up http://www.trekrpg.net/Board/ubb/smile.gif

Any guesses as to how I would convert the skill plusses and minuses from LUG to Gurps, should I want the conversion to go the other way?
