The New Star Trek ship or my verion of one

The New Star Trek ship

Over the weekend one of the guys showed men a picture of the new Star Ship. Has anyone seen the new ship that has been appearing on videos at the Official Star Trek site for the new 2017 series? I think that it looks like the ship that they might have used for the second series before they went over to making a movie.

From what I understand is that this ship is earlier than the original series starship. The funny thing is it is named Discovery and we ran a Nebula-class Discovery for years and it was the longest running series of adventures we had done to date.

Last year I made up a version of the ship and here is my rendition of it without knowing that they were doing a new series with a similar ship. And all its subsequent upgrades that I had envisioned for it. So I thought that I would post the ship here for all of you to use.

I settled on 2180 to 2220 as a time when the ship could be in service as it is around about twenty some years after the Romulan War and the Federation is in its infancy and the call for exploration is at hand. This ship is smaller than the NX-class that Archer commanded but is far superior to the NX in many ways as it is faster and has phasers and photon torpedoes. It is not perfection I was sitting in a waiting room with my lap top on my lap figuring out all of this.

If this ship is, as they say, the first Warp 8 ship, it should be launched about or after 2236. That's when Vina's ship crashed on Talos IV. The Enterprise is capable of Warp 8, and Jose Tyler makes a big deal about how fast ships are now, so Warp 8 almost certainly wasn't available when Vina's ship was lost. That's if (and I admit it's a big IF) Paramount pays any attention to its own background materials, not a given since one of the producers is an acolyte of JarJar, Darth Abrams.

I had not head of that but that is easily changed as much of the tech will be the same or just an upgrade. I will do so when I have time later or if someone else does it before me.
