Civilian Freighters
Every now and then a Starship needs someone to rescue and what better than needing a Civilian freighter. A freighter that happens to be just a little too close to some dangerous space anomaly. So I created several freighters just for that reason and have popped one or two of them out here before but there are still many that I have never show cased.
You will note that there is Antares Type, I refer to it as a Starfleet Military designation for Civilian freighters. I think of them a cheap made off the shelf freighters that are like the Second World Wars Liberty Class Tramp Cargo ships that were quickly produced and sold off to civilians when the time came to get rid of them. Other words instead of calling them tramp freighters they are called Antares type or class. The simplest explanation i can come up with.
I have multiple versions as there are many different ideas of the size out there and I just make them to the sizes that make sense, and we can use.
This is from Perfect Toys I believe the title of the Next Generation episode had a small freighter that could do no more than Warp three if I remember. This is the size five version; I personally like it in the smaller version of under one hundred meters.

It seemed that the Klingons had a freighter that was much like the Cardassian freighters that had modular containers. Though the Klingon version is larger and green. The cargo is nearly a million and half cubic meters. We have used this as a trouble carrying dangerous cargos that threatened the Federation colonies when the freighters got to close.
Usually transporting cargo in groups, the freighters would carry large quantities of cargo and increased the dangerous nature of the freighters in Federation space. Seen much of their use during the Federation/Klingon conflict and Dominion War to transport large quantities of military ordnance and troops to the front lines of battles. Even before and after the war the freighters saw extended use.

One of the Picard starships that really stood out was the Kaplan F17 Speed Freighter and I constructed a version that is a good version of the freighter. The only thing I would change from this is I would drop the cloaking device for anything before the twenty-fifth century as it would not make a good show to the treaty with the Romulans.
