History...

The Starborus-Class was, like the Sovereign, Starblazer and Prometheus-Class, kept on the Drawing boards for over fifty years, as the ASDB and Antares Fleet Yards were planning to prepare, and rapidly update the starship, and with the success of the Secter-Class Heavy Frigate, and it's upgrade to use Hedronn "Hellfire" Torpedoes in 2495, the Starborus went through it's Final 'Major' Revision and Post-Production, the Prototype (NX-208000) being used to Beta-Test Systems sued on the Legend-Class Starship, which itself was going to be the major Explorer, Exploring (pun intended) both the Frontier, & and the Future, and would usher in 6Xe Technology, much like how the Excelsior (I) would usher in 2Xe, using an experimental Pulse-Fire Torpedo Turret to pioneer what the Sovereign's main Quantum Torpedo Pulse-Fire Turret did, although errors and priority in production, kept these turrets and any spread-fire capability above 16 limited to the Starborus until the 28th Century.
The Starborus-Class was easily the "Secter 2.0", although the Secter was still young, and planned to be kept in service until at least 2636, however the Starborus would easily be the quiet, confident, beefy older brother of both the Secter and Legend, the last finally being retired in 2674.
