OK, my question is simple.
Where is the torpedo damage table in Space Dock???
Maybe I'm blind but I have looked everywhere and all I find is the same old Phasers, Lasers, Disruptors, Missile launchers etc...but for the life of me I can not find the damage tables for torpedos...photon or quantumn.
er.. they are there, I'll have to look for them though.
Anyone else got the rules handy?

A word of warning, don't let your players get their hands on High Yield Photon Torpedos or even Quantum Torpedos.
I was running an adventure last night where the players, who were the command crew of the USS Hawkins, an Intrepid class light Explorer, were being stalked by a cloaked, renegade Cardassian Galor class Cruiser.
Unfortunately, for the Galor, the crew of the Hawkins detected the cloaked Galor, then the Captain of the Hawkins, Captain "Crusher" O' Connor, ordered a full spread of eight High Yield Type VI Photon Torpedoes (four from each forward launcher) to be fired at the rapidly decloaking Galor class (I was using the stats for the Galor from the DS9 Core Rule book and a modified version of the basic ship combat rules, with elements, such as the High Yield Torpedoes from the advanced Combat rules added in).
Three of the first four torpedos hit and totally wrecked the Galor's forward shields. You can imagine what the next four torpedos did to the Galor.
So a word of warning from a unfulfilled Narrator, don't let your players use the more powerful torpedoes unless they are going up against a very, very powerful opponent.

Could have been worse... From the often quoted lack of shields while cloaked, and the split second of vulnerability between declaoking and raising shields... In an episode the Galor would have had no shields when the torpedos hit...
THAT would have cut proceedings even shorter!

Only problem there it states in Space Dock that you can't multifire high yield weapons. They can only be launched one at a time.Quote:

Try to imagine the problem with the Akira- 15 spread 6 torpedo launchers, but you can only do one multifire per turn. I guess all the launchers are so you can keep emptying tubes over the course of the battle without reloading- sort of like how folks in the 17th century carried pistols all over the place.

As said In my post, I was using a modified version of the basic rules so just for the sake of keeping things simple, I was alowing them to fire a spread of four torpedoes from each launcher.
Also, without looking at my copy of spacedock (which is on my PC at home, not on this one) I could not agree or disagree with you on whether or not you can multi-fire high yield, but from my recollection, you can fire high yield torpedos from standard launchers, but with severe restrictions on their use, however if the ship is fitted with the upgraded High-Yield Torpedo Launchers those restrictions do not apply.
The Intrepid class is fitted with four of the said upgraded launchers, so they could fire both High-Yield Photon Torpedos as well as Quantium Launchers at MAXIMUM effect.
In the end the rules are for the guidance of wise men and the adherence of fools, so in the end what counts is the pleasure of the players and my group, unfortunately, are not full time Trekies and like a more action orientated game and would become very bored if I were try to run a more cerebal game.
Ergo, if they want to multi-fire High-Yield Torpedos, they can.
I will have my revenge next time!!!!(Sounds of manical laughter coming from the narrator.)

Ah.. but Very seldom does Starfleet believe in killing.. I'd have SFC go ahead and put the captain/crew on a hearing to see if they used too much force..
Dunno if you've noticed, but the SD rules state that you can't fire spreads of high-yield torpedoes. Only one at a time. If this weren't the case, Starfleet would issue them to all ships and there would've been no need for quantum torpedoes - which can spread-fire.
