Tech Specs for NX-01
I'd like to take a shot on at least coming up with preliminary stats for the Enterprise NX-01. Does there exist anywhere any information on things like size, crew complement, etc? I already have figured out that she probably has type 1B nacelles, as they have a max speed of warp 5 http://www.trekrpg.net/Board/ubb/smile.gif Any advice appreciated.

Don't know exactly, but I think the ship is about 200 meters long and crew compliment I think is about 80.

Before I, at least, weigh in on any major specs, I want to see more of the show. Right now it's all mostly speculation. Hopefully Paramount will issue some "official" specs at some point, just to provide a length and things likt that. http://www.trekrpg.net/Board/ubb/smile.gif

Someone did a Spacedock write up on the yahoo LUGTrek group very shortly after the pics of the Enterprise first appeared. It seemed pretty good IIRC.

Understood http://www.trekrpg.net/Board/ubb/smile.gif I just wanted to take a shot at it to see if the existing Spacedock rules could be stretched a bit to accomodate such an old ship.
I think the hull polarization thing might be an issue..probably have to be represented by a very low power deflector shield or some such.

As for stretching the SD rules for older ships, Steve Long has done an excellent job in the forthcoming TOS-era SRM, which includes ships even older than NX-01, such as the DY-100 class.

Speaking of which Steve.
Does the arrival of Enterprise on our screens delay the TOS SRM? At least for a short while to allow updates and alterations. Or do you plan on using Enterprise to make the TOS SRM part 2???

I've already included a little sidebar in the SRM: TOS Era manuscript that says, "This has nothing to do with Enterprise; wait a couple years for an update."
At this point, with the manuscript finished, I don't want to start revising it on a weekly basis. Admittedly, it's annoying, to essentially have bits of my work overruled on a regular schedule, but for now that's the way it's gotta be. http://www.trekrpg.net/Board/ubb/smile.gif

Steve,
You have my sympathies. That's the problem of working with an ongoing series. Each week there is the threat of something popping up that condractics published material.
Considering that the people in chanrge of Trek don't seem to be worrry much about being consistent with thier own cannon, let alone third party products, I'm surprised you've been able to keep as much continutity as you have.
P.S. I suppose a lot of people are going to be looking for a heightened sense of smell trait for Vulcan females.
-
Yup, definitely, +1 Perception for Vulcan fems, only for smell, something like that. http://www.trekrpg.net/Board/ubb/smile.gif
BTW, there are some tech specs for the NX-01 in the latest STAR TREK COMMUNICATOR, which arrived today. Among the interesting tidbits:
-- it has "a length of a little over 600 feet"
-- it has a crew of 79 (including Archer)

Since their defenses dropped pretty quickly in the battle. My answer to what does the Polarized Hull plates protect against? Not much.

I was thinking that polarizing the hull might do something to actually reinforce the material in the hull, making the plates themselves more resilient.
But it's more likely that it'd just help with deflecting charged particle weapons.
We might have a better idea when Paramount actually opens up the "Tour Of The Ship" part of the Enterprise page on startrek.com.

As for the Vulcan sense of smell, why not the Excellent Chemoreception advantage?
