Gender Crisis - The Poll

The Gender Crisis thread is really hot and we're getting a good exchange of opinion. Well I thought (as the thread starter) a poll to see where the popular consensus lies. Please vote.

Even if they aren't very good at it... if they aren't, it's good for a good group laugh.

Maybe we could have had something more detailed ... something like:

• No I'd never play one and no I wouldn't allow any in my game.
• No I'd never play one, but I might allow one if they show me they can pull it off.
• No I'd never play one, but I'd allow one.
• I gave it a try. Didn't like it and wouldn't allow one.
• I gave it a try. Didn't like it but might allow one ...
• I gave it a try. Didn't like it but would allow one.
• I play one from time to time. Might allow one ...
• I play one from time to time. Would allow one.
• I play one often. Might allow one ...
• I play one often. Would allow one.

There's no space left for the "don't care" option ... but "don't care" probably wouldn't care to vote, or could always chose option 7 :).

What exactly is the question?

I assume it's something like: Would you allow a player to play cross-gender in your game.

Please clarify.

That is how I answered it. I have not played one myself (except as a narrator), but I would have no problem with others doing so.

This poll is from the GM's perspective so you're right about the nature of the question.

My main char is male, my husband's is female, and we have one friend who has several female chars. main reason we can come up with is just more of a rping challenge. don't think i'ld recommend it for a first char or a younger player, but can be fun for sumone who's gamed for awhile. (also, i think the real main reason i went with 'male' for my char was actually so it didn't look like a copy of Ro or Kira. Seems all the main bajoran chars have been female and i didn't want my char to seem like a sterotype.)
