Hrm... Rent, Chess, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat... Those'd probably be the top three. But I also quite enjoyed Les Miserables, Phantom of the Opera, and many many others. :)

As far as individual songs go, "Pity the Child" still makes me flinch, (waaaay too close to home), "Would you Light my Candle?" makes me smile, and the "On My Own," just floors me. :)

Of course, being queer, I don't really have to maintain a "Manly Man" facade ;) :) !

Bearing in mind I've only ever been able to sit through two musicals the one's i'd have to pick are:
Cats: One word springs to mind, "Eh?."
Oklahoma: In my defense I was watching the version that was on TV recently with Hugh "Wolverine" Jackman in it.

The Sound of Music and The Man of La Mancha are my favorites; I have both the soundtracks on CD. Oklahoma, My Fair Lady, and West Side Story are pretty good.

Our local arts college did Dreamcoat just a couple of months ago. They put on a creditable performance. I'd forgotten how much fun it is to see a live performance of a play.

Does the Buffy musical count? :)

Yeah Michael. The song's not close to home for me, but its definitely a flincher. BTW, For those of you who don't know, it's from CHESS. A trivia note from CHESS and Jesus Christ Superstar -- Lead man Murray Head is the older brother of Anthony Stewart Head (Giles) of Buffy fame. How 'bout that for showing my geekiness?
