To buy simply multiply the rent by 120, for example a 2,800 rented home will cost 336,000 credits to buy. To build multiply the rent by 80, for example, the same 2,800 home will cost 224,000 credits to build. A prefabricated structure such as those found on colony worlds will cost the rent multiplied by 40.

In addition to the basic cost of a home it may also have a home computer, private transporter, communication system, food replicators and other systems these are in addition to the base cost. However you must purchase a home computer system first in order to use the home systems, a basic system with allow you to install 2 home systems (normally an entertainment system and a food replicator) a normal computer system will allow four systems and an advance computer system will allow eight systems to be installed. Home can buy additional computer to enlarge the system capacity.

You may want to reconsider your square footage. A small house up to 49,999 sq. feet? Do you realize how big that really is? That's 50 times bigger than my 2 bedroom condo, or about the size of an American football field, including both endzones!

A small house, in today's terms, is usually under 1,500 sq. feet. Really large houses are usually around 3,000 sq. feet. I'd think only the largest of mansions are even in the 50,000 sq. foot range.

I would suggest you look through your local newspaper or check some real estate websites to get some perspective on the size of homes. I seriously doubt 23rd and 24th Century homes are much bigger that today's. Kirk's apartment in Star Trek II couldn't have been much bigger than 1,500 square feet, and he's an admiral.

FWIW, some of the more pretentious houses I've seen, aka McMansions, are in the vicinity of 3500-5000 square feet, and those in the upper edges of that range are really outrageous.

I mean, really, who needs a 3-story atrium? :rolleyes:
