Idea worth stealing
Looking for a slightly wacky but otherwise throw-away episode for your crew? Try this one.
The party's ship is in a stand-off with a hostile vessel, though not one at war with them. They are negotiating, but some fire is exchanged also.
Owing to the strange properties of the region of space (to keep the effect out of player-hands) and the interaction between the player's shields and the other ship's weapons, some energy gets through and has an odd effect on the crew. This odd effect is to cause people to exchange bodies, at random, with the peopel in the room with them.
Clearly they will want to figure out some way to reverse this process, which involves precise placement of people and persuading the other ship to shoot your ship. http://www.trekrpg.net/Board/ubb/smile.gif
In the meantime, humor can be derived by people not being able to tell who is who, and also people having to attend to vital bodily functions using unfamiliar equipment. http://www.trekrpg.net/Board/ubb/smile.gif

Wow! It IS an idea worth stealing! I think I may have to use that one at some point. Unfortunately I'm in the process of starting up a new campaign with new players and characters, so it'lbe a while before I can effectively use it. Thanks for sharing though.

Heh, now this is an idea with a lot of potential. I think I'll have to remember this after we get a little more into my campaign, which is even more interesting considering the crew is so mixed in my game (i don't think there's more than one member of a given species aboard).
Thanks fer the idea, should be fun http://www.trekrpg.net/Board/ubb/biggrin.gif
An alternative for those of you looking for a more intrigue-based idea would be only a select few of the crew being switched and then being switched with members of the crew on the other ship. This would be a little odd and leave both crews trying to switch back, but also some might suspect it was intentional to allow the enemy to analyze the technology on the ship (which it may be, up to Narrator, of course). Ah well, that's just my alternate spin on things.
Thanks again, spyone.

Been there, done that. But we had some kind of cosmic string thingee as the cause. best part: the klingon exchange office and female captain exchanged bodies.
-
I do like both versions of the idea. Hard to choose.....

Isn't this scenario snagged directly from a FARSCAPE episode? http://www.trekrpg.net/Board/ubb/wink.gif
-
LCM...you would be right in my case. Fortunately, half the players don't watch it. I find Crusade is another great place to pull from for the same reason.
-
Ah yes, that Farscape episode.
The only realistic body swap episode ever. I mean, you're a man who hasn't had any for a year and you get put in the body of Claudia Black (hubba, hubba).
Wouldn't you do what Crighton did.

Well, yes. Hence my thread title "ideas worth stealing".
Thanks for the heapings of praise folks. If just one GM uses the idea, My time was well spent posting. http://www.trekrpg.net/Board/ubb/smile.gif

Hmmm Kizin Commander and Betazoid Counciler switching bodies. Hehehehehe

Body switch with Deltan, and since I didn't swear an oath of celibacy...
Now all I'll need to do is get tranfered to DS9 and kill Julian...
