Enterprise Campaign
Has anyone else considered this? I've had notes for a Star Trek: 2099 campaign laying around for months now, and it seems to me that Enterprise is set around that time period (right?).
There are obviously more than a few questions we'd need answered first (i.e. energy or projectile weapons, other races, Klingons, ship types, top speed, etc.), but I think that this could make for a really excellent role playing game Series.

I had considered such a campaign with a different angle. I wanted to do something completely different, so no player can start going, "Well, we should be meeting this particular race, shortly. And since they are experts at this, I want to..."
So, I created from scratch a whole new race and a whole new sector of space. The players characters are the crew of the first starship to take its steps away from their home.
Now, when they have to explore, they really have to explore. This well be "real" first contact. They don't know what to expect. The only thing they will know what is out there is a map of what is visible by telescope from their planet and maybe basic information recieved from a few warp probe that has been sent into the area.
The technology is also rather young. There hasn't been any first contact yet, so all that they have is what that has been developed (Lasers, missiles, no transporters, etc.)
With Enterprise series coming out, I think I will start running it.

Good idea Jake, sounds funny. I intended to make an early Starfleet campaign since I bought the TOS book and hope I can start it in the near future. It is probably set on a Daedalus class ship. And I'll use the stats with the Lasers and the like - no phasers or transporters.
