I noticed that the Starships book has a new Maneuver (Cloaked Attack) that lets you gain initiative, decloak and make a free multifire attack. But there seems to be no maneuver to just cloak/decloak.
I assume this means that a ship can cloak/decloak without an action (just like using sensors.) By the Ops Manager making a Systems Operations (Cloaking Device) test (TN 10?)
Does this sound right?
Cloaking/Decloaking isn't a manoeuvre. Lets face it, there is just a big button on the bridge somewhere marked
CLOAKING DEVICE: ON/OFF
Locking on and firing whilst cloaked is a manoeuvre though.
Whilst the decloaking portion itself I don't see as being an action, the locking on with sensors, getting in position and firing without being detected is.
Just my two pence.
An Encounter with a Cloaked BoP might go something like this
* Cloaked Klingon BoP encounters [target ship]
0a) [target ship] makes a Sys Ops (Sensors) test TN 20 (assume it fails)
0b) BoP makes Lock On action
0c) BoP makes Match Heading action
0d) BoP makes Close actions till it's in short or PB range
turn one begins...
1a) BoP Tactical Officer executes Cloaked Attack action. This gives the BoP Initiative and a free Multi Weapon action.
1b) BoP Tactical Officer executes free Multi Weapon action.
** BoP Tactical Officer is now out of actions, but BoP still has an action.
1c) BoP Flight Control Officer takes evasive action.
1d) BoP Ops Manager Engages Cloaking Device.
The cloaked ship can keep doing this right? Execute a Cloaked Attack folowed by Engaging the Cloaking device?
At which point did the BoP Ops Manager disengage the cloak?Quote:

AS I understand it Cloaked Attack lets you:
1) Disengage Cloaking Device ( for Free? )
2) Gain initiative
3) Make a Free Multiweapon Atack
