The Romulan Prize

Hey

Does anybody know the TNG Novel "The Romulan Prize"?

I have just reread it and thought that it is quite a cool plot for a story. I thought about running my players through the same mission as found in the book. Perhaps editing some problems out of it but roughly the same storyline. I'm even sure, that no one in my group has ever read the book. Do you think this could be pulled of?

So far one of my players wants to play a doctor and one wants to go for chief engineer. I've got one or two more people that are not quite fixed on a charater. I'm quite sure one of them is interested in becoming chief of security.

Now I'm asking myself which positions should be covered for an adventure like this by a player character and not a NPC.


I'd appriciate a thought or two.
