MACO Weapons?

I watched a taped episode of "the Xindi" again last night and caught most of "the Anomoly".

What are the weapons that the Military Assault Command Officers (MACO) are using. At first I though they were plasma weapons even though they were blue. Colors don't mean much in Enterprise - Andorian weapons vaired between blue and almost-green in the first 2 seasons depending on whether the Vulcan (blue) phasers were in the same episode or not.

However, I missed some dialogue during Anomaly I think. In the Shuttlepod did the Captain tell the MACOS to set their weapons for stun? And did he name the weapons. Like I said I was busy at the time and missed the dialogue.

Any one have any clue what the Military officers are using?

Oh, and can we please not let this thread degrade into "B&B sucks! Trek should not have commandos! ad infinitum"

I'm guessing they might be refined versions of the EM-33 Particle pulse pistols that were used in the Pilot. Phase pistols are still pretty new items (read: protoype) and the MACO's are probably still uses in the tried and true weapons they've been using for years.

Love to comment... But like many non US members of the board we are still waiting for series 3 of Enterprise...

And seeing that most of the Enterprise supporters are from this side of the pond you might want to wait a few months for this thread to get resucitated...

They seemed to be to be very similar to the pulse weapons used by the farmer in "Broken Bow". Except with additional refinements (especially like the sniper rifle).

Military folks are usually not on the bleeding edge of technology, because they prize reliability, for obvious reasons. So I doubt these are anything like the phase pistols.

It might be interesting to see Reed apply some of his weapons expertise, and we could yet see a phase rifle. It seems clear that the tone is to stay in the Delphic expanse, which implies that they're going to need to scavenge and build for themselves -- could be some story opportunities there.
