Star Trek Universe
http://www.startrekuniverse.com/
Star Trek Universe is a longstanding (it recently celebrated its one year anniversary) and friendly Star Trek community that recently relaunched with a brand new look and plethora of features. We would be delighted to have you aboard!
STU hosts three different RPGs, both unique and active. Feel free to join any of them.

So, these are free form RPGs, and not a regular GM-and-player RPGs?
-
What's the difference?
(I'm sorry. I'm not very well-versed in RPG terminology; explains why I don't run those RPGs. :p)

Free-form RPGs are those that are, effectively, collaborative fan fiction. Each person has a character, and they write action and dialogue for their character as part of the "crew's" continuation of the storyline.
In FFRPGs, there is no real Gamemaster controlling the direction of the story...the crew is effectively writing a novel together.
Since 1995, I've written for five separate free-form RPG groups (several hundred posts worth of writing for 10 different characters).
For a more traditional RPG, you are playing a regular gaming session by email, message board post, or live on a chat channel. The GM presents the story (adventure) and adjudicates it as normal.
As much as I like my collaborative fan-fic stuff, I much rather prefer to latch onto a traditional RPG setting.

In that case, they are free-form. :)
