Questions on Size and Cargo

I am having a problem with where an 80 meter (158,000 metric ton) sphere would fit into the Size Table. Should I just use the Length Range on the Table and figure it to be size three?

Also how do you figure cargo holds on a ship with detachable cargo containers? Giving the ship 33,000 multiplied by size in cargo seems a bit much when the majority of the cargo will be in the 80 meter sphere. Should I take 33,000 multiplied by the size of the sphere multiplied by the number of containers and list that as the ships cargo?

For the size an 80 meter sphere falls in to the following
length = size 3,
beam = size 5,
heigth = size 7,
weight = size 4.
Now you could take the sizes and average them to size 5, go with just the length for size 3, or base it off the weight of size 4. Given how the nature of SU's are figuritive and not absolute it's really a mater of choice.

With the cargo containers, are we talking detachable like a train or like a CD tower (cases being the containers)?

Thanks Phoenix. I guess I am leaning towards going with just the length and keeping them at size three. As for the containers, these are the detachable. . .leave them behind full and take the empty ones with ya. . .like a train.

If you have a couple size three cargo containers trailing behind the main ship...that's a lot of cargo :eek:

Wow! That's a lot of stuff. Math was never my strong point. Would you be kind enough to provide the formula you used? I might need that for some of the other ships I am writting up for in Spacedock.

I just have to figure out what to do for cargo space on the Aquarius-class and it will be finished and ready for posting.

Thought I should mention, the 'bridge' and other related systems are akin to a cargo monitoring room, roughly the size of a shuttle craft's cockpit. I also gave it the ability to move via thrusters so it can maintain some form of orbit if needed, cargo transporters for the normal reasons, one escape pod just in case, etc...

Fuel, food, parts, incompleat shuttles pretty much any thing that doesn't require life support, ala colonists or live stock or are clearly defined as something else (shuttle bay, massive reactors, etc...).

If you like I could make some notes on personnal transports and other designs.

And if ya didn't see it yet here is why I am asking the questions.

Ok, I have two concepts in mind here. First a non-luxery personel/passenger type transport (sub-types- prison barge, colony, and stearage travel, sorry but the over all design dosn't say luxery transport to me). Second some sort of shuttle trans port container.
