Starting my toolset for the TMP-era ships today (saucer and warp engine, basically), to the new scale and detail level. This will take a bit of work, so please bear with in the meantime.

Well, it'll come. The TMP pieces take a LOT more effort than TOS, so getting the toolkit out will take some additional time.

I like it. I'm not sure I'd have given the Hermes class the heavy photon torpedo launchers, and in any case I'm not sure that even if I did do it that I would have put them on the gooseneck and right on top of the warp nacelle. I mean, that's a manned station, and I'm not sure that's the best place for it.
Visually, however...damn, this is a treat. Keep up the good work (especially since this is my era of choice).
It's an observation deck, hence the windows. I just replaced the armament section there with a nice 'sciences' area. :)

In a complete creative fit.. erm.. no, this was a minor and obvious ‘modification’ of the Hermes to get the Saladin. Basically, it was an excuse to work out the 2-forward torpedo bay.

Ditto. I, too, have always loved the Wilkerson, and I don't really know anyone who doesn't like the ship.
I think it should be a little more symmetric from the front view, but hey, that's a minor nit. I think it looks pretty cool as well.

I like the look of the Wilkerson, but I see a big practical problem with the nacelle pylons. They don't seem thick enough to hold the power transfer conduits, and the way they attach to the nacelles makes for a pretty awkward connection between the PTCs and the plasma injectors. The pylons on the Constitution refits and the Miranda are thin, but still at least twice as thick as these, and the PTCs can run much more directly into the nacelle.
How thick should they be? I mean, really.
Large power cables might be all of a foot thick in diameter. How big is an EPS system supposed to be?
Let us not forget, it's all fiction, anyway. If it's at least plausible, let it happen or prove why it isn't plausible..with evidence.

This is a pretty bare-bones TMP-Era Escort, with three main phaser banks, two aft banks (not visible), and... a nice excuse to draw the Reliant's impulse housing section. It's armed and equipped like an escort should be, with phasers (point-defense), shields, and SPEED.

Theylla was a nice one. I wanted to draw the Miranda's engine housings, but keep a small ship (of which, there are far too few of in Trek). A lot of people are suggesting it as the 'replacement' for the Baker, as well.. which may save me drawing a ship. ;)Quote:

The Shepherd is a good smaller ship, too...in both incarnations. I think the refit begs for some Miranda-esque sensor/deflector greebly things on the dorsal leading edges of the rear hull, though.
It wouldn't hurt my feelings. The Baker is not only as long as a Constitution refit with what looks like a greater internal volume, it has those nacelles hanging down as if to say, "Hey, hey, Bird of Prey, decloak and shoot me off today...." (But one could say the same for the Chandley.)Quote:

This is good. I like seeing TOS or film-era ships with a reduced secondary hull and interhull that can fill in the gray area between the Constitution and the one-hull wonders like the Miranda. Nice touch with the shortened nacelles, too.
