Let's see if I can be the first winner on page 100!!

Big deal....
I win :)
If only that were true, BC. :p :D
Thank you for your consideration. But post your thoughts on it anyway. Bill Hicks fought for freedom of choice and the freedom of thought. Including the freedom to disagree with him.Quote:

2. I am not a cynic.
3. I disagree with just about everything he stood for, may he rest in peace.
Considering those three stances, it would be impolite of me to post my thoughts on your tribute thread.
Each to their own I suppose.
Doesn't detract from the fact - I'm winning.
On a serious note:
Not once did Bill ever slate anyone who served in the military. One of his big campaigns was for the freedom of choice. If your choice was to join the military and serve your country then fair enough. His problem was what the military was used for by their respective governments.
I never said you were a cynic. Not everyone is jaded like me. :D
A lot of people did disagree with what he said. He was very controversial. His opinions on Abortion, Smoking, Government control, the degredation of society, freedom of choice, drugs, alcohol, UFO spotters, the deep South etc etc could rub a lot of people up the wrong way. But.... If you listened to any one of his shows from start to finish (and I'm not saying you should) then most people find at least one thing, one point of view, that they agree with.
Anyway.
Back to the fun and frolics.
Da. *sends JonA and Sea Tyger to Gulag to peel potatoes*
Is Winning, No?
No.
Ah, Yup.
WINNNNNNNNNING!!!!
BC is LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOSING!!!
Do you read this?
This is the typing of inevitability Mr. JonA,
and I win. :D
To Captain Novaes, I wasn’t going to answer your post in the ol’language, but, what the Hell, it is Carnival
Ora pá, eu bebo bagaço (ou caipirinha) com torpedos quânticos p’ra dar sabor, faz crescer pelos no peito que whisky é bebida de moçoilas casadoiras e torpedos photonicos são feijão bichoso.
Translation:
After translating both texts above (thanks to Babel) I have one question?
Está você em drogas?
:)
That is what you get when you trust Babel ;)
All I got was something about a comparison between food and quantum torpedoes!
And the German bit was about visiting a family doctor!
Oh well.
I never paid much attention in language classes at school and boy do I regret it.
The German never appealed but I regret not learning more Spanish and French.
Very interesting.

I win :D
Interesting that you say that.
I thought I was winning.
Oh....
I am.
Well, you were, at least. :p
(Back, only briefly, on the serious note about Mr. Hicks and your response:
I didn't want to give you the impression that I thought you said I was a cynic. I was just stating, for the record, that I wasn't. :)
Also, while I disagree with just about everything that I've seen from Hicks so far, I certainly hope that his "message" prompted some people to become more active in their community and government {and not just rant about their perceived injustices}. In that respect, he would have done his part to improve our nation.
Of course, I lose a little respect for a man who knowingly perpetuates wild conspiracy theories. I, for one, believe that Oswald was the lone shooter, acting in his own interests. There may have been others aiding/encouraging him, but there's a heck of a lot of reasonable doubt that there even was a conspiracy against the President.
Besides, if Kennedy's enemies wanted to ruin him, they could've easily leaked the Marylin Monroe affair and destroyed the man politically. Why silence a man when you can humiliate him?)
Anyway, as JonA said, enough on that....back to frivolity and dodging Liz's smites. :p
