Distracts BC with catnip while winning.
Distracts Sea Tyger with picture of Los Angeles-Class Fast Attack Sub while winning.:D
Subs are nice, but if you really want to distract me, you gotta bring out the big boys...
....mmmm, Iowa-class battleship......
Oh, sorry. Now, where was I?
Oh, yeah. Winning! :p
Hey, you've got a big 20" ... main gun.
So you don't need to win.
So I will!
Actually, the Iowa only has 9 16" guns. I think the Yamato only had 18" guns. The Bismarck only carried 15" guns.
To date I don't think any ship has fielded a 20" gun.

My bad (memory). It is 16" guns.
Yeah, the modern Navy is based around the carrier group for the most part -- because you can "project power" with a carrier like you can't, really, with other ships.
The advent of the cruise missile and other technologies which facilitate naval based strike missions make change this picture again. Much smaller and less vulnerable ships can carry such ordinance.
I think the carrier will always be vitally important, unless something changes the picture so radically as to eliminate the need for air supremacy.

Whats the difference between the army and the cub scouts?
Cub scouts don't have heavy artillery.
I attended the same broadcasting school as the real Cronaur. It was interesting to see him as he was in the early 90s...balding, with a Gorkon-like beard. :)Quote:

Obviously, he wasn't as nearly gifted as Robin made him out to be...but he was still pretty funny. :)
And I win. :p
