USS Courageous NCC-74683
Defiant-class (F-DE)
"Vi Victa Vis"
(Force overcome by force. --Cicero)
USS Helen, "Each laid hold on each, and each/ Found the other strong." Rudyard Kipling, "Helen All Alone" (Quite possibly the creepiest English poem not written by Poe... )
"What dam of lances brought thee forth to jest at the dawn with Death?" - USS Lancer, Saber-class
Good for a Medical Ship...
"Death is always and under all circumstances a tragedy, for if it is not, then it means life itself has become one."
- Theodore Roosevelt
"You go now!"
USS Pinette, Ambassador Class
"The ability to destroy a planet is insignificant next to the power of the Force."
USS Skywalker, Lucas Class
"My starship has a number...it starts with N-C-C...."
USS Oscar Myers, Excelsior Class
"Phlox in Socks!"
USS Seuss, Bradbury Class
"You can't always get what you want."
USS Rolling Stone, Jager Class
"Phaser on Stun....Beer."

Ships I have had the honor of Refereeing for:
USS Dionysus (NCC-26289) Reliant Class Cruiser
"I perceive clearly that those visits to the wine-skin demand compensation in sleep rather than in music." - Miguel de Cervantes, Don Quixote Chap. XI
USS Archer II (NCC-26290) Reliant Class Cruiser
"Bring her about, and give 'em both barrels, Mr. Mayweather!" - Unproduced "Enterprise" script.
USS Quixotic (NCC-26291) Reliant Class Cruiser
"...and leaping ashore in a remote and unknown land [he] has adventures that deserve to be written, not on parchment, but on brass..." - Miguel de Cervantes, Don Quixote
And in a less serious vein:
USS Excalibur (NCC-1664)
"Open the pod bay doors, HAL!"
USS Golda Meir, Defiant-class: "One cannot and must not try to erase the past merely because it does not fit the present." - Golda Meir
Dum de dum... quotes.
"Before you embark on a journey of revenge, dig two graves."
"The only verdict is vengeance; a vendetta held as a votive, not in vain, for the value and veracity of such shall one day vindicate the vigilant and the virtuous."
"Forever will we keep this unfettered friendship
Till we meet again far in the Milky Way"
USS Spillane: "But you have to be quick. And able. Or you'll be dead."
Mickey Spillane 1918-2006 :(
Defiant Class USS Arun Khetarpal: "My gun is still working and I will get these bastards."
2nd Lt. Khetarpal was an Indian tank commander who stayed in his burning tank to stop an enemy counter attack. The quote was his last words over the radio to his commander as he refused an order to abandon the burning vehicle. For his gallantry he was posthumously awarded the Param Vir Chakra, India's highest medal for bravery.
"Nothing beside remains."
"Entering the forest he moves not the grass;
Entering the water he makes not a ripple."
From the name ships of the games I'm running
USS Spartan (Defiant Class)

USS Apollo (Intrepid Class)
"From now on we live in a world where man has walked on the Moon. It's not a miracle; we just decided to go."
Federation Research Ship USS Norman Borlaug: "His life is his message." - Professor M. S. Swaminathan
Dr. Borlaug is credited with having saved over a billion lives (Literally. No hyperbole with that number) with his work on hybrid crops. He's now terminally ill. If you're in the States, please write your congress-critter to pass HR4924, the Congressional Tribute to Dr. Norman E. Borlaug Act of 2006, while he's still with us.
With quotes like these, they've got to be Defiants...
USS Zapata "¡Tierra y Libertad!" (Zapata's battle cry)
USS Villa "Tell them I said something." (Pancho's last words)
USS Martí "It is better to die on your feet than to live on your knees."
USS Durendal (NCC-9038), Excelsior-class Exploratory Cruiser:
