Starfleet Attack Fighters. We have two wings of them aboard USS Vanguard, an Akira-class starship. Refer to the "Akira vs. D'deridex" posts in Spacedock Section for further information.
Oh, I dunno about the E-E vs a coupla Warbirds...I gamed out the E-E vs one Warbird and the Warbird was pasted in about 4 rounds, and the E-E's shields were still up (weakened...but still up).Quote:

But, I am looking forward to see what they will do with the Romulans, it's about time they got center stage for once...Klingons and Cardies are getting real boring real fast. I'm thinking they will set the stage on the future of the alliance with the Empire in the next movie.
Myself, I hope they don't go all buddy-buddy on us, 100 years of animosity can't be wiped out in a single pen stroke. After all the Romulans have very long memories.

I think the E-E vs 2 or 3 warbirds'd be about fair - as long as Riker isn't commanding it, of course. We know from Insurrection that Riker's reputation for using non-standard tactics 80% of the time (as noted by Data in Peak Performance) includes actually not returning fire with phasers or torpedoes when being attacked by a pair of So'na battlecruisers... http://www.trekrpg.net/Board/ubb/smile.gif
Regarding ST:X, I'd love to see the E-E heading up a diplomatic mission involved in seeing who gets what after the Dominion War dust settles. You know, the Romulans want the planets they liberated, the Klingons want the Cardassian Union, etc, etc.
Having all those diplomats around would be an ideal opportunity for a battle to start, the E-E's tactical officer to be injured and the Federation ambassador the Klingon Empire just happen to leap to tactical and take out a warbird or two... http://www.trekrpg.net/Board/ubb/smile.gif
Hey...I like Worf, okay? And they're running out of excuses for getting him into the movies... http://www.trekrpg.net/Board/ubb/smile.gif
I'd like to see lots of political intrigue hanging around the Romulans - I think they'd use the post-war situation as an ideal opportunity to grab as much as they could, and establish a foothold on the other side of the wormhole.

maybe X will be the last we see of the 24th century. maybe Data will show up in the 29th on series V. Maybe Guinan, Odo, the ECH...
Yes you are right about DS9 and Voyager running synchronous more or less at the same time but it really is an issue of continuity something very prevalent in DS9 story arcs whereas the opposite is true in Voyager. There was quite a gap from the intial EMH contact in "Message In A Bottle" from Voyager c.2374 until Starfleet contacts them in the "Pathfinder" episode (c.2376?). In my ST Encyclopedia (the one before the current one out now) it lists under 2373 as the start of the Dominion War ("Call To Arms")which by its end was stated on DS9 in "What You Leave Behind" to have lasted two years. We know the Romulans join the war effort about mid-way through this war in late 2374 or early 2375 ("In The Pale Moonlight"). This puts the VOY episode "Message In A Bottle" somewhere in early 2374Quote:

before the Romulans are allies because the new EMH 3 corrects the VOY EMH (who mistakenly thought the Federation was at war with the Romulans); "No. The Romulans have not gotten involved in our fight against the Dominion." The June '99 issue of ST: The Magazine features the USS Prometheus and on page 53 they state the incident as having occurred in 2374. Should have bet you fifty bucks--kidding...
"The Dominion? Who are they?"--EMH 1
"Long story."--EMH 3 VOY: "Message In A Bottle"

oh, and you can toss Dax into the 29th, too.
OK the other string here list the ST:V series as being pre TOS . . . but what's with this new 29th century? Cause that would lean towards more timetravel based stuff . . . i.e. USS Relativity (great ship). But furthermore that would give the writters that much more lead way.
As far as bringing in older characters . . . Data? No . . . he's getting sick of the role . . . maybe a new Android whom is "related" to data. Dax . . . I can see that . . . Odo, the actor is getting a bit old but can use the work.
But something late 25the century would be nice lets say 2480 or so . . . gives a good 100 plus years for them to play with intergalactic history . . . that should be more than enough.
But that is just my two cents.

You can find lots of speculation (informed and otherwise) on ST X as well as Series V at the Subspace Relay board:

Good point . . . but we have seen Data change his appereance, "All good things . . ." ST:TNG.
Yes, and like Captain Picard's reaction, I agree that Data look ridiculous with that streak in his hair.
It was bad enough I missed an entire episode because the first few minutes they had a scene where Data had a Riker-like beard. The the initials ROTFLMAO mean anything? Because I was doing that for an entire 50 minutes. http://www.trekrpg.net/Board/ubb/biggrin.gif

Anyhoo, just some random thoughts...

huh? what episode is that?

I want to say it was "Measure of a Man" or "We'll Always have Paris", but I could be wrong.
A humorous note: a scene supposedly filmed for the same episode, but cut in editing, was the "bookend" to the opener (Data with a beard, and Picard good-naturedly needling Riker about it). In it, Riker good-naturedly reminds Picard that he (Picard) was the one who was encouraging Data's self expression. Picard's reply is along the lines of "There still are limits, Number One..." and the scene ends with a shot of Data sitting at his console on the bridge with his head shaved!

LOL . . . LOL . . . a beard and a shaved head. . . LOL . . .
but where were we . . . yes so is there anything currently out there that would lead us to believe that the series will be placed in the 'far' (more than 100 plus years) future?

There's a LITTLE bit to lean that way. . .Go to the place I put the link to, and go over the appropriate topics. We've been gathering information and specualtion for nearly 8 months now.

Quite some time ago, I heard the main characters would be 22nd century starfleet, but there would be an arch-nemesis from the 29th, maybe even Braxton. I don't remember where, but I recently heard someone say to prepare to learn a great deal about the 29th.
In the 29th the Federation is betrayed by the Vulcans and is consumed in a civil war which destroyes both factions. In the aftermath the Klingons overun Federation space...but then at the end of the series the Enterprise E ends up in the 29th c. after being traped on the event horizon of a black hole.
Wait... maybe that wasn't Star Trek
