Now along come the settlers in the Fed/Card treaty, and she sees the Federation abandoning people *again* (from her perspective). It seems quite natural that she would help them.
Now, here's a question: is there any canon evidence to suggest that she survived the pogram against the Maquis that the Cardassians conducted with Dominion help? Supposedly all Maquis were wiped out. I know that the DS9 relaunch books assume she survived, but they're not technically canon.
Fesarius, I think that an interpretation of her character. I can see it, but I balance it against the very real character growth she experienced. It was like all the development Ro had gone through had been cast out the door to facilitate her swift exit from the show. She came to understand that things were not as simple as her heart or emotions would seem to claim. It just felt like backsliding.
