No bashing intended. However, the game has certain flaws which are glaring. I will not go into them here, as this ground has been much covered elsewere.
Those flaws cannot be handwaved aside just because there are tons of errata and house-rules available for download, or because there is terrific fan-work being made. To quote Ineti, it's entirely possible to have "Bad Wrong Fun" with the game as it is, out-of-the-box (as I certainly have), but still, the game "as-is" is just chock-full of inconsistencies.
I'll grant that it does a more than fair job in presenting Middle-earth and Middle-earth role-playing, and that's why I have never quit the game since it came out.
OK, so if this message sounds like a rant or a round of Decipher-bashing... it isn't. Just a complaint from a loyal customer ;)
Leather bound 2nd Edition LOTR Core rules
Man that would be an Item to have. Although I could always just have my LOTRrpg core rules book rebound in leather. Humm there is a thought .
