Now this is a project I'd like to see. Any comment on some of my rule suggestions?
Actually Jalus I am using some of your ideas in my type up. I have collected many info you have submitted from other people at axisandallies.org Basically I need time to go through it all. I will post the map at starship combat news for other people to download. Basically I left the map of Mandells starcharts pretty much the same but I did tweak it with ipc values. The ships you mentioned is a large task that I have to find a way to make counters for.
The rules are still up in the air even though I made the map. I have an idea how I would like to see it but still need some time.
I am combining this a&a game = from here on its titled Dominion Wars; with Full thrust elements.

Well I have completed the map and am now working on the counters. here is a list that will be included in the game.
1. Use of Full Impulse (Full thrust rules by Mike web) his website is
www.voidgamers.com/channel/sci-fi/full-impulse
2. Converted star charts to playable map thats 38x28 with IPC values and cleaned up to be not so cluttered. (done!)
3. Counters that are magnetic. The board is to hang to clear up table space to conduct Full Thrust skirmishes
4. Create cards to add many other elements like events, interrupts, bonuses etc
I am combing through the message boards here and at a&a.
For anyone else who would want to follow my footsteps here is how.
A. Download the info (for free) from the above website and go out and buy some star trek micromachines off ebay.
B. Get some antennas paint them black, make a base for them and there you go. I used wizkids 'clicks' as a base so if I wanted to make each ship click with its own data I could. you could get wizkids crimson skies clicks for 10CDN so I bought about5 packs and have more than enough antennas to make this work
c. Download the rules, map, counters and cards (all free but printing out the map at a printshop will cost you 75CDN but the map looks amazing)
D. YOUR DONE HAVE FUN!
Basically this game combines Full thrust with Axis and allies to make it VERY tactical.
Once I have the counters I will post them. As for the map I am checking to see if I am violating any copyright law, NOT THAT I AM TRYING TO.
The rules will be out soon
Comments, slander, anything let me know.
Here are the counters. I am currently working on the backs for them.
Here are the backs...now I have to see if a moded map violates any copyright laws. The map is from starcharts.
Be interesting to see the rules.
here are some of the cards used
Am I Wrong or could these carsd be perfectly used with the Star Trek CCG by Decipher?
these cards where changed to be used in the board game and contain no CCG element whatsoever
I have a bad camera so I apologise in advance if the pics are blurry. This is just to give you an idea of what the game board looks like.
In case your wondering, the whole board is magnetic so the ships never move orget misplaced.
The highlighted squares/sectors on the map is where you use full thrust rules for skirmishes.
More pics of skirmishes, note that very few areas are skirmish areas...mostly only pivitol areas on the map. ie, earth, Cardassia, chintaka(sp) system, etc.
Is the skirmish area an optional thing? For doesn't that add additional complexity to A&A:ST? I mean, I can't get 80% of people I meet to play A&A, and those who do, about 50% find the rules a bit to complicated.
Yes your right it does add a bit of complexity to it. I guess this is for die hard Trekies, you could play it without it. I was also thinking you could use the skirmish/Tactical full thrust only to take over homeworlds. That would be like a epic battle for the end.
