Okay, I'm getting severely confused. After having registered on Drive Thru's site, inserted the credit card information twice, paid for it twice, and experiencing a download twice, the book does not appear to be showing up anywhere on my system. Has anybody else experienced this problem - after completing the payment, the page simply switches back to Drive Thru's home page - or am I missing a step here???
Further to above: I have checked my order status, and it indicates that I have ordered - and been charged - three times for this work. If this is true, I have blown almost $100 Canadian for something I have not, to the best of my knowledge, received. If anyone can provide assistance on this situation, please advise ASAP.
I have also checked the site for anything vaguely resembling a support or help line, and there appears to be nothing available here either. Again, if anyone knows of a way to contact these people and a) confirm that the order has been recieved in some form or fashion, and b) find a way to cancel the two extra billings, I will be extremely grateful.
How very odd! I did it, paid through paypall (it's an american company and I don't have a credit card!) and it worked fine first time?!
Once I paid for it It simply presented me with a screen where I could hit 'download' and start downloading it? If you have registered through Drivethrough you should be able to see your registered status on there, how many times you've downloaded it etc? Hmm
I was sent an email confirming my order and in it had the link for downloading my purchase.
Otherwise,
1) Go to "My Account"
2) Log in
3) Under "My Orders", select "View all products I've purchased, with download links"

I have skimmed through their FAQ page

and found a paragraph about uninstalling your acrobat reader and DL the newest version from adobe. Than you gotta activate something, that enables your AR to read that secured eBooks they sell. Then you should start the DL of the RPG product. Could that have been the source of your problems?
edit: Then again it probably wasn't, as this procedure seems to be required for DRM version of eBooks not watermarked PDF files. My fault...

Everybody: thank you for the advice and assistance. Gandalf, I did attempt the series of links you indicated above, and it simply seems to lead me into a repeat of the same sign in/where's your card/okay you're done routine that I encountered last night. I am getting severely pissed off and will attempt to contact their help department tonight, when I've got a bit of time.
Christ, why couldn't they just do a regular FTP like everyone else?
Hmm but it was just a download button, even a regular HTTP link too.. Very odd.. I guess you just have to mail them and get them to reset it or something. Have you checked that the money has went through? have you actually paid for it?
I finally figured out what was wrong with my credit card, and I now have my copy, burned to CD with a couple other free netbooks I never printed out.
Now, to steal away from the ol' ball and chain and find somewhere that'll print it.
Question: What kind of paper do folks usually have this printed on? Photo paper? Glossy? How does it look on your standard copier/printer paper?
On my printer (HP 2410xi) with max resolution, best color, and plain paper, I printed the first 2 pages of the intro for Paths of the Wise. They came out incredible, but 1) it took absolutely forever to print the two pages and incidentally the b&w cartridge took a much bigger hit than the color cartridge.
If you're using Firefox or IE6, Acrobat should fire up and bring up the book at the end of the download (if you have it set up to do so.) Then you save it. If you can't find it, go to the accounts page and click on the WORLDS link 2/3rd of the way down that page or so. Should download. If you get asked for the card info, you hit the wrong link.Quote:

So far, none of the other people I know have had problems. Are you on a Mac? (Still shouldn't matter, IE and Firefox both work fine on those platforms.)
Only other thing I can think of is some firewall or virus setting that prevents your browser from firing up Adobe on a DRM .pdf.
A DRM PDF wasn't an option to download for this product, it was strictly a watermarked one.. so it's nothing to do with DRM.. the watermarked versions are just regular PDF's
The book is sweet! I'd have liked it if some of the species profiles had been in separate sidebars rather than buried in the text (i.e. the Tzenkethi) ...
But even the typos aren't too glaringly obvious (except the 'Varta' base on the Founder homeworld).
Highly recommend .. And I hope they give you some decent customer service on this issue, D.S. I usually order stuff like this from RPGNow.Com, and I hafta say I like their setup much better.
Future books are going to be much better proofed than previous volumes. You have my personal guarantee.Quote:
