Will the errata be published separately, for folks who don't want an unchanged core book (already having the hardcover) but still want the corrections? Or would that be too small to be of value?

It's my understanding that it will be published separately. It's my belief that to not publish it separately is just plain wrong-headed, but this is Decipher we're dealing with....Quote:

I don't know if it's optimism, Jim, so much as plain, stubborn bull-headedness on my part. As I said in an earlier message, sometimes I question my sanity in relation to this particular venture.Quote:

I can't speak for what Patrick's planning, but I'm going to post the core book errrata on the errata threads on this forum and the one on Decipher's forum, as well as submitting the errata for layout. That way, you don't have to pay for the core book just to get the errata.Quote:

That's my stand on the issue as well. I've already been posting what I've got, and intend to continue to do that. I'd just like to see it look a little more polished than what I can do in a forum message.Quote:

Yeah, I know. There's only so much blood we can squeeze out of the stone that is Decipher. :)Quote:

Yeah, the Enterprise historical writeup (with some tweaks and edits) and the Denobulans (ditto) will be put into the errata. With the change in how the errata is being presented (a separate appendix versus incorporated into the body of the book), I'm also looking to add a couple of things to the errata that I couldn't before because of space limitations (like some 22nd century equipment, for instance).Quote:

It's at times like this - a night where I've had a pretty major gratuitous slap in the face delivered to me - that I start to question the existence of a benevolent God. And then this stuff comes along... :)
Patrick, Jim - once again, my unlimited and unqualified thanks. If I had the time, I'd put my name in on the volunteer list and make a contribution (I'd like to take the position as the guy who "Kills Decipher Just a Little Bit", but I know that got snagged up pretty much in minute one), and help get this damned project with this damned company back on damned track so we can finally, finally get the damned books that we were promised four damned years ago.
With regard to what I'd be picking up - well, the Player's Guide, and all related works, are pretty much non-starters since our group doesn't use the Coda system, except to provide supplemental and flavor work for Icon; but I will definitely be picking up the errata form, no matter what venue or style it comes out in, and whether it requires a nominal fee or not. Material like that - cleaning up the "unholy mess" (to use your extremely apt phrase, Patrick) that defined much of the first edition - is invaluable and not to be missed.
And, like everyone else in our crowded little room here, I'll be keeping my fingers crossed and praying that the meds hold off a relapse of Decipher's schizophrenic disorder until the damned Klingon book - and, God willing, the rest of the queue - can be put on sale. Once again, thank you for your efforts. :)
You're welcome. :) We'll just see if anything good comes of it.Quote:

They're wanting the edited files by next week, so we're hopeful that we'll have product by the end of the month (note that we're hopeful, not that we have a release date).
We're told we should have the LOTR core book sometime next week, so that we can get working on it. More info on that as it comes in.
Work on the errata supplements continues apace; with a little luck, we should have a good, solid PG errata set ready for layout by the end of this weekend.
Anyway, that's the news. Just wanted to let you folks know that there's some visible movement going on, and some productive discussions behind the scenes as well.
You and Jim are the MAN! Umm... MEN! Ummm... you know what I mean.
Does this mean that the errata will contain only rules errata and additional Enterprise material, as all typo would have been fixed in the main text?Quote:

That said, I can offer my services if you'd need a layout artist for these errata (in the case they wouldn't be offered separately from the corebook). I don't have Decipher's licensed pictures database, so it'd be only text and vector graphics though.

Blingon Kook!
Kudos to Huth. ;)
I must say, I bought Worlds, and Mirror Universe, and though I am an Icon player, I enjoyed both of those a lot, even though I generally hate .pdfs.
Best of luck with your efforts, gentlemen.
