Oh yes, thank you JALU3. This simulation has at least two open slots for players. We need at least one more Federation player to control a wing of Starfleet Attack Fighters and we could allow one more. These players would control Charlie Wing and Delta Wing.
There may also be a slot open for one Romulan player as the original player has not responded in a week.
Interested parties, please drop me an email as soon as possible.

Therefore there are at most two slots open on the Fed side . . . and One more open on the Rom side.

What in the world are you referring to? http://www.trekrpg.net/Board/ubb/eek.gif
The RSN Star Runner only had a pair of Thetas. Nightmare is the only one left. (Of course, they do have shuttles... http://www.trekrpg.net/Board/ubb/smile.gif)
Welcome back Sub-Commander Sevekk.

Captain Marques sends:
"Greetings from the Federation, Commander Seylar. I'm really sorry that our
first contact has been so disastrous... And I appologize for this unintended
cross of your boundaries. Our star charts show this area as being out of
romulan space... Actually, 1000 light years out... That's a good distance,
right Commander?... Far away from home, I presume your activities in this
system are purely scientific, am I right? If that's the case we would be
happy to help you with your current scientific investigation. We've
discovered some interesting data, and we could share it with you if you
agree with our assistance. I see no problem with it, do you Cmdr?... Besides
our two governments are at peace now, what makes such cooperation a good
step to strengthen our ties and the growing peace between our two people...
Unless there is something you didn't tell us..."

"Captain Marques! The Romulans are responding..."
A rather severe-looking, tall, slim Romulan woman gazes forth from the viewscreen. She seems almost as dispassionate as one of her Vulcan cousins as she speaks:
"We are, like yourselves I believe, on a long range mapping mission. This is the first, out of six, system so far surveyed that shows anything of interest."
She pauses for a moment.
"Yes, we are now allies and I regret the destruction of your scout vessel. We did not detect the communication attempt until after combat was joined, and the destruction
itself was accidental when your scout went to warp at the same moment our tractor beam activated."
"Since we are allies I suggest this be done by the book. Do you intend to make a formal claim for this star system? If not my intentions are to declare it a protectorate under the Romulan Empire, until such time as the inhabitants can be brought to technological equality and take their place back amound their kinsmen."
Message ends.

Capt. Marques proposes:
"Commander Seylar, our data indicate that the people of this system might have had contact with the borg. Perhaps they know something about the borg that our two governments don't, so I propose a meeting to discuss a join effort to study this system and its people. Such effort would be proven orthwhile for both of us, improving our defense capabilities against the borg threat. What do you think commander?"
-
Captain Seylar smiles:
"Certainly, we will lower our shields and await your beaming over. I would like to send over one of my personnel to prove good intentions, as well as three cases of Romulan Ale to help cement our friendship. Would that be acceptable? Let us know when you are ready to beam aboard."
-
"It's a trap, Captain Marques! You can't trust those Romulan slime devils!"
I'm sorry, did I say that out loud? http://www.trekrpg.net/Board/ubb/smile.gif

Well, we've already had a short, swift engagement between a Talon class and a pair of Theta class couriers. The result was the loss of the Talon and one Theta.
I would say the shootin' is about to start real soon now...

Gosh Sarge, I sure wish we'd managed to sign you up. With insights like that, the battle would be over by now http://www.trekrpg.net/Board/ubb/rolleyes.gif

Capt. Marques' response to Cmdr Seylar's invitation:
"Commander Seylar, we are honored by your invitation, but according to Starfleet Regulations, specifically the General Order 579, any meeting in neutral territory should be done on a truly neutral place, what, in theory, forbids our delegation to encounter yours on your ship. This General Order says too that no transporters can be used, and the meeting parties must arrive to their destination using shuttlecraft or similar ship. As a sign of good faith, I'm ready to forget the first part of this regulation, allowing my diplomatic delegation to meet yours on your ship. However, I am the highest rank Starfleet officer in the surroundings and a starship captain, so it's my duty to keep the discipline and respect for Starfleet Regulations among my fellow officers. I think you can understand this Commander, because you have the same duties and responsabilities with your crew and with the Romulan Star Empire. So that's why I cannot forget about the second part of this General Order, insisting that our people must go to your ship using a shuttlecraft. Once we are friends now, I see no problem with it. If there isn't any problem to you, my people is ready to leave our hangar. I'll give sometime to think and decide. We'll be waiting for your answer."
