Well its an option, but atleast something that effects warp travel like Voyager's 'Warp Sandbar' for instance. It stands to reason that there is also a Warp tidalwave.Quote:

Okay, version 1 of the small sectors map has gone out today for all of the above people who asked.
This has about an 80-100 ly radius from Sol.
Not finished yet but I wanted to get it out the door for comment.
Okay now heres the errata.
StatBases are in willy nilly positions unless there is an actual location mentioned. SB up into the 10's are relevant with their sector and would make sense in the early days.
Most but not all sectors work with this 2d arrangement. So to make it a pleasing thing to look at, I've modified some sector names to a more relevant number assuming that they were originally misspelt or such.
eg. Sector 3-0 and 3-1 to 30 and 31 respectively
eg. Sector 23 to 32 since it has the RNZ nearbye and wouldn't work in its previous position.
(All in all theres only about 6 sectors that need changing, and that represents no more then a 1/3 of whats there.)
SB4 is at Triarcus which by the old STMAPS is Andor.
Assuming:
Vulcan = 40 Eridani
Andor = Epsilon Indi
Tellar = 61 Cygni
Other then that I didn't have enough info at hand to put in any more well known stars within that area for comparison.
Lastly make any comments/questions etc. here and I'll do my best to answer.

Acceptable? Perhaps with more stars obviously and colour coded as well. Alot of the mentioned stars are actually neutral and not federation.Quote:

And yes the sectors are 20 ly x 20 ly!
Also since this square area/2d sector arrangement seems to work in the most part. Then the 8000 ly ref. could be a square area as well.
4000 ly across spin to trailing
2000 ly core to rim
Between Deneb and Rigel you pretty much have 4000 ly. And Antares to ? atleast nets you 500+ ly.

The second map of about 400-500 ly radius including Bajor and such will probably be another week yet. I'll post that to all who've asked.
Then the big map of 2000 ly radius will hopefully be a week after that!
