I did not - but I'll happily use it, and switch the other to a different ship! Maybe the Vanguard...Quote:

Was that the World War I incarnation btw? If I got it right, the NCC number is the date of the Battle of Jutland :)
I have to put you in touch with my flat mate! He suggested the name in the first place...Quote:

This is all part of a concerted effort to anglicise Starfleet a little :D
Yep, the seventh and last HMS Warspite was at the Battle of Jutland in 1916. She was launched on 26/11/13.
Her official crest was a ships cannon on a green field. Her unofficail crest was a green woodpecker.
Her most famous captain was Sir Walter Raleigh in 1596( the year of her launch)
If you include your Warspite as the eight one, then she would have one of the longest histories in Starfleet, even longer than that of Enterprise :)

Here's a good one, that I found on a Will Smith album.
"It takes a village to raise a child." From an old African Proverb. That gave just the right kind of sense of community and learning that I always feel Bridge Quotes should imply...
Its just me, but when I read dedication quotes, I always try to either match it up to the class or ship name, but even more importantly, try to work out if the quote invokes the spirit. After all, it should raise morale and imply a sense of standards used by the ship...
like I said. IMHO.
That said. Most of the dedication quotes on this thread are good ones... Nice one people.
I've been tinkering with the idea of adding a U.S.S. Pioneer to my game, an Intrepid-class vessel. If I do, this'll be her quote...

Finally I come through with something serious on this thread...
I give you my campaign's notion of the dedication for the USS Achilles:
These fought on in the likeness of blazing fire (Iliad, Book 18)
I though it an infinitely appropriate quote for a Star Trek ship. And subtle, too. :DQuote:
