I remember watching a French show on CBC (dubbed into English) called Thierry la Fronde, about a French Robin Hood-type outlaw who used a sling, way back in the 1960's.
Bedides Highlander, there have been a number of other Canada/France co-productions, both English-language and French-language.

I didn't know Thierry la Fronde had been translated. Maybe this is the case for other French series which didn't become famous though.Quote:

True enough, since Star Trek was first aired in France around 1985, just in the wake of the Star Wars boom, and it was on a channel who recycled the worst american series it could find (Star Trek must have slipped through somehow). Then, most people started to compare both shows and Star Trek got the worst of it(understandably, since it also had a very bad translation who sometimes made episodes quite incomprehensible).Quote:

Ok, now I'll try to stop hijacking this thread.
Here in Georgia, USA, there seem to be plenty of Trekkers and RPG'ers. Though in my small town, that number goes down as the college kids leave for the summer. But that still leaves about 6 or so RPGers, and a couple times that Trekkers, of course, some of them are closet Trekkers, known only to other Trekkers and not to the public. :D
And I have swords and guns..... buwahahaha!!!
Near Dayton, Ohio, here.
My group has played lots of FASA Trek (up to 10 players in it's heyday), and Battletech in the past, when we all went to Wright State in the 90's.
I am currently setting up an Online LUG Trek Game (either OpenRPG, or perhaps an email/forums game) in the "Gaming Hub" area of these forums.
People are ressurrecting the strangest threads... don't make me unpack my Zombie Gun.
Kindly point out the regulation against contributions to these forums, and I will stand down.
