Lumok mutters to himself something about Klingons and their lack in sense of decorum. Deciding to work quickly, he makes this room his base of operations. He does a sensor search of this level to determine the location of any computer terminals, replicators, etc. -- any working or could be working equipment that may be of value.
Sys Operation (Sensors) - (6+5) + 5 - 2 = 14

According to Steve Pugh's stardate calculator (which correctly places the date of Deep Space 9's recapture in 2374 and is thus likely more accurate than the TrekGuide calculator) Stardate 50814 is 24 October 2373, 10:25. "Children of Time", the twenty-second episode of Deep Space 9 Season 5, has a Stardate of 50814.2 (12:10). "Rocks and Shoals", the second episode of Season 6, has a Stardate of 51107.2 (02 February 2374, 12:35). This is 293 Stardates or just over three months between the two.Quote:

"A Time to Stand", the first episode of Season 6, implies that several months have passed since the Dominion War began. The Player's Guide states that the War began with the Dominion/Cardassian alliance, which occurred in "By Inferno's Light", the fifteenth episode of Season 5, Stardate 50564.2 (25 July 2373, 04;45). This is almost three months to the day before Stardate 50814, the starting point of our campaign, and just over six months before "Rocks and Shoals".
Deep Space 9 is retaken in "Sacrifice of Angels", the sixth episode of Season 6. "You Are Cordially Invited...", the episode which immediately follows, has a Stardate of 51247.5 (31 March 2374, 11:25) and supposedly life aboard DS9 is returning to normal. This is rather astounding, given that "Behind the Lines", two episodes before "Sacrifice of Angels", occurs just under five weeks (Stardate 51149.5... 23 February 2374, 23:20) earlier. Would a few weeks prove adequate for conditions on DS9 to settle down enough to permit Dax and Worf to begin wedding preparations? It's canon, so I guess it is!
Whatever the case, my earlier post has been corrected to Stardate 50813.46, factoring in the established time of day (05:41 hours). Four hours and forty-four minutes later, at Stardate 50814, Solstice could be almost two trillion kilometers (.2 light-year) away from Starbase 105 if it did Warp 6, cruising speed for a Nova-class starship. According to the Narrator's Guide, a distance of one sector (twenty light-years) can be covered in nineteen days at Warp 6. Nineteen days is roughly 52 Stardates, meaning we will arrive in the Pheben system on Stardate 50886 (roughly 12 November 2373, 10:15).
:D
Great Explanation! And perfectly as I had planned it. :)Quote:

Replicators are in every room as far as you can tell. There are approximately 40 quarters on the deck. There is a small computer terminal in 4 of the 40 quarters, one being the one you are in. Sensors are barely functioning, most of the information was given to you on a map displayed by the computer.Quote:

Systems Engineering roll: (6+3 dice) (+3 Engineering) (+2 Intellect) (+2 specialty in Systems) = 16
Deciding that there were too many replicators to haul out and it would be a bit obvious, Lumok decides to start with lifting the computer terminals and begins to dismantle the one in this room from the wall.
OOC: What should I roll for that? (if you don't think it unfeasible for him)
Since I don't see that you have System Engineering, I would say that Lumok would have no idea what he is doing, therefore not possible.Quote:

OOC: Would it be possible for him to use his tricorder to help in the attempt (have it scan the structure and determine how to remove it)? If so,
Sys Op (Sensors) - (6+4) + 5 - 2 = 13
You can remove it by unlatching the four magnetic locks in each corner.Quote:

"Ahh, easier than I thought," Lumok mutters to himself, smiling as he removes the magnetic locks. Now with everything disengaged, he pulls out the terminal [if needed, Strength - (5+4) + 0 = 9]
The panel comes out after a few tugs.
Grinning with glee, Lumok proceeds to do this in the other rooms on this level that have computer terminals and dragging them to the room he has claimed.
Roll strength 3 more times.
There appears to be an engineers kit in the far corner. I'dlike you to roll the same roll that you did before, but I'd like you to do it 18 times as per rules of the extended tests.Quote:

Strength #3 - (5+1) + 0 = 6
You are able to recover 2 out of the remaining three, The last one seems to be stuck in the wall.
My 18 rolls, after adding 7 to each (+3 Engineering +2 Intellect +2 Specialty in Systems) :Quote:

"That's a good start, now let's see what the other levels hold for me."
Lumok proceeds to hide the terminals and then heads to the lift to go to the other levels with living quarters to remove those terminals as well and bringing them down to the quarters where he hid the others.
Conceal (Cache) - (3+4) + 7 + 2 = 16
OOC: Fortunately he won't be interupted by the newcomer ;)
How many more Strength checks will I need?

Meredith furrowed her brow as she reviewed the latest brief from Starfleet Intelligence. Open war with Cardassia and the Dominion seemed imminent. Ten months had passed since the Founder spy at the Klingon Imperial Court was exposed, and the situation had steadily deteriorated in the interim. A pang of conscience flashed through her mind. My particular talents would be better utilized in Strategic Operations, not managing some obscure outpost on the Klingon-Romulan frontier. Yet the prospect of ordering people to their deaths from sixty light-years away continues to frighten me. Uncle Jack knows that. Is my presence here due to a desire on his part to shield me from my self-doubt? Despite the importance of this mission, it still feels as if I'm shirking a greater responsibility.
Lt. Gorlick stirred her from her reverie. "Lt. Cmdr., we've entered the Pheben system." His hands played across the console of the Sciences station, coaxing data from the ship's sensors. "Estimate one hundred million kilometers to Starbase 113."
"Very good, Mr. Gorlick. Mr. Haro, slow to one-half impulse and put us on approach vector."
"Aye, sir. Starbase 113 in eleven minutes, thirty-eight seconds."
"Thank you, Mr. Haro." From her console, Meredith opened an intraship comm channel. "Bridge to Cmdr. O'Riley. Sir, we've arrived."
"All right lt. Cmdr., I'll be be there in a few minutes" Corbin answered. "O"Riley out", said O'Riley as he signed off and left his quarters for the bridge.
"Aye, sir." Meredith rose, stepped forward to the rail overlooking Flight Control, assumed a relaxed stance with arms folded behind her back. "Mr. Gorlick, scan for nearby vessels. Mr. Timmins, open hailing frequencies to Starbase 113."
"Aye, sir," came the chorus.
Several minutes passed. Meredith glanced over her shoulder at Communications.
Ens. Timmins shook his head. "No response to hails, sir."
Lt. Gorlick looked up from his station. "Sir, sensors show no other vessels in the vicinty. Starbase 113 appears to be operating on emergen... hang on! Correction, sir. Main power has just been restored."
"It appears someone is home after all. Scan for lifeforms, Mr. Gorlick."
"Um, sir... it's a veritable zoo over there. Only two humanoid lifeforms, though."
"Mr. Timmins, continue hailing. Mr. Gorlick, perform a detailed scan of the station as soon as we are in range, and inform me of your results."
Once again came the chorus, "Aye, sir."

"Lt. Cmdr., we've entered transporter range. Our humanoids are a Ferengi and an Andorian. The Ferengi is moving around the habitat level, and the Andorian appears to be in Main Engineering."
Meredith frowned. "They must be looters... I don't recall our crew manifest or the Klingons' including either. Lock on to both. Inform Chief Hidalgo to beam them directly to the brig."
"Aye, sir."
"Chief, on my mark... energize."
[OOC] I'll use the Technician from pp. 238-9 of the Narrator's Guide for Chief Hidalgo's stats. The result of his System Operation (Transporter) test would be (6 first die + 3 second die + 4 skill level + 2 specialty + 2 INT mod. =) 17.
Both of them are successfully beamed from the station to the brig.Quote:

As Lumok was taking the lift to another level to retrieve more equipment with thoughts of latinum on his mind, he feels the familiar tingle of a transporter beam. "Arrrrrrgh!" When he reappears in what he recalls as a Federation starship's holding cell, he puts his disruptor and PADD down on the floor and waits to be accused of something.
Commander O'Riley stepps out of and through the turbolift doors when he arrives at the bridge. When he arrives near the CO's chair (or Captains chair) he says "Status Report, Ms. Davies".
Having restored main power to the station, Daru stands up and admires his handiwork. "Klingon technology... so simply constructed. Crude, but effective."
With main power in place, he is about to perform a full scan on the station and it's surroundings when suddenly he feels himself being whisked away by a transporter beam. Instinctively he reaches for the handle of his sword. By the time he dematerializes and reappears in the brig, the blade is already halfway drawn.
Daru is outraged, even more so when he realizes he is on a Federation vessel... imprisoned by his new crewmates before they've even begun working together.
OOC: Did the transporter chief beam Lumok and Daru to the same cell, or separate ones?
Meredith turned to face Cmdr. O'Riley. "Sir, we detected a pair of humanoid lifeforms on board Starbase 113 shortly after we dropped out of warp. We hailed the station but received no reply even after several minutes. When we closed to transporter range, Mr. Gorlick determined that our humanoids were a Ferengi and an Andorian. As members of neither species are among our or the Klingons' crew complements, it was my estimation that they were probably tech scavengers, and I had Chief Hidalgo transport them directly to the brig." She smiled. "I was about to hail you and suggest we meet on Deck Three at Security to question them. How do you care to proceed, sir?"
[OOC] The brig is a single room with three small forcefield-enclosed cells. Given that this method of transporter operation is probably pretty standard brig protocol, I would guess that Lumok and Daru are confined side by side but separately. Ultimately up to Matt, of course.
"Well Ms. Davies, That was certainly preemptive... uhmm... ok... let's see if our guests are enjoying their accomodations" Corbin says. Commander ORiley motions toward Merideth "After you"
"Thank you, sir." Meredith exited the bridge to port, as was her custom, and turned aft. While waiting for the turbolift to arrive, she turned to Cmdr. O'Riley. "I hope you understand my decision to apprehend our two 'guests', sir. Given the delicate nature of this operation, I thought it best to err on the side of caution. It is quite possible our mission might draw spies and/or saboteurs. If you feel I overstepped my authority, however, I understand. Still, I think my record shows that my judgment, even when questioned by my superiors, has proven sound."
"That may be, Merideth"... "However please let me know next time before you make those command decisions if you can. Corbin says. "And I will let you know if it's appropriate or not". "DO I make my self clear Lt. Cmdr" Corbin says with emphasis looking at Merideth with semi stern eyes.
"Like crystal, sir." Meredith stepped onto the turbolift after Cmdr. O'Riley. "Deck Three, Brig," she said, frowning. "Sir, permission to speak freely."
"Granted", said Commander O'Riley with a smile.
"Thank you, sir. As you presumably have read my service jacket, it should come as no surprise to you that my decision-making always takes the long view, the big picture, into account. This is an extremely sensitive mission, with the Federation on the brink of war with the Dominion and the Cardassians. The presence of these two unknown individuals represents a potential breach of security which could compromise that mission. I had a choice: to catch them unawares or risk that they were hostile and planning to act on that. I'd rather not be known as the XO that let her CO screw the pooch on his first command by being too friendly, so I opted for the less diplomatic approach figuring you could use me as a scapegoat to smooth things over in the event my intuition proved incorrect." Meredith flushed, uncharacteristically feeling every bit as small as her 5'2" frame was in actuality. "That's all I wanted to say, sir."
[OOC] Sorry for the delay, folks. I wanted this piece of dialogue to be polished before posting, and it took me several days to think it through. That, and I had to work a bit of overtime this weekend and train a new coworker while I was at it.
The turbolift doors opened. Meredith followed Cmdr. O'Riley out and around the corner to the brig. A tall, broad-shouldered man of primarily African ethnicity came to attention as they entered the room.
"At ease, Lt. Moreau. How are our 'guests'?"
"Fine, sir. The Andorian gentleman claims to be a colleague, and is quite non-plussed at being in our care. I allowed him to retain his blade as a courtesy. The Ferengi has invoked his right against self-incrimination, and would like to know of what crime he is accused." Moreau held up the disruptor and PADD. "He was carrying these."
Meredith took the PADD, examined it, handed it to Cmdr. O'Riley.
[OOC] Hello?
It has almost been a week since I last posted, nearly ten since anyone else did, and almost a month since C5 informed us that he would not be able to participate until April 12th. Has interest waned, or are people just terribly busy?
[ OOC ]
I'm still here, I just don't know where my character is supposed to be right now. :)
O.C.C.: I'm still here RaconteurX, I've just been real busy and iIhaven't had the energy lately to think about the game; but I still want to play.
OOC: I am still here as well, but also busy. I would like to continue playing. I think this game has a lot of potential and I want to see where it takes us.
OOC: I'm just sitting in a holding cell waiting.
