Berman Talks New Trek Film

Does that mean they'll get a new guy who's supposed to tell them if they've already done the episode in another series?

Because honestly, the one they have isn't doing his job properly.

I'm talking about the episode where Flox is the only one able to be up and about while the rest are in stasis, and he goes slightly insane.

Compare that to the voyager episode where only seven and the doctor are out and about and the rest are in stasis. Seven goes slightly insane.

Noticing the similarities here?

Okay, I know what you're going to say, there were two people in voyager, and only one in enterprise, but that doesn't cut it for most fans...

No You're clearly misunderstanding that this is 'Enterprise' not Startrek :D They are appealing to a different 'target audience' - which is Hollywood speak for 'run the old scripts through the photocopier again' :)

To be fair to Enterprise the old 'repeat episode' problem is a problem for EVERY Startrek series since TOS (remember the naked now!) - Ok and probably TOS it's self too hehe. All the shows have continuity errors... it's just that after 5 series you'd think they'd have figued out how to solve the problem without using 'space aliens' with knarly temporal powers.

Perhaps they should set the next series in the 1990's, so we can watch how Khan conquored the world, leading to WWIII :D

And you are clearly not seeing the first two words in the title, which happen to be "Star Trek." So this is both "Star Trek" and "Enterprise" at the same time. :D

It currently is Startrek: Enteprise but it wasn't when it started.

Indeed. It was originally just "Enterprise" because some genius felt that removing the "Star Trek" part would somehow cause people to think it had nothing too much to do with the monolithic Trek franchise, and thuse draw a new audience that would not have otherwise watched a Star Trek show. Instead, it pissed off the only people who actually did watch the show, Trek fans....So someone (this time, genius was not required) put Star Trek into the title.

At this point, I'm starting to think they should scrap any previous movie ideas and just have the NX-01 crew fight the Aliens and Predator....

ARCHER: "Alright T'pol, can you give us an idea what in the hell that thing is clamped on Travis's face?"

T'POL: "Actually Captain, I'm somewhat busy right now. It's time for Commander Tucker's and my weekly nude scene. Ask Dr. Phlox."

ARCHER: (Sighs) "Alright, Phlox, what the hell is this thing attached to Travis's face?"

PHLOX: (frowning) "Who's Travis?"

Elaborate? Personally, I feel betrayed. I was perfectly happy denying and dismissing that ENTERPRISE is Trek for the first three seasons. Well, it could have been three, if the third season's title didn't have the Star Trek label on it.

Oh, well. Despite the change in production staff, we'll see if the show rightfully earned the label this 4th season. So far, I am encouraged but not yet embracing it.

Ah. Well, my point (and my sincere belief) is that the only people who ever watch Enterprise/Star Trek Enterprise are people who are already fans of the Trek franchise. That non-Trek fans never gave it the time of day. Rather than continue to try and sell it to an outside audience that avoids Trek, they decided to resort back to the only people who ever did watch the show.
