If the only thing that is missing is the layout I think I can help... I'm pretty good with InDesign. And I have some free time. Clearly I can't promise anything until I know what the situation, but I think I can do at least a semi-decent layout (on the level of the TOS one)

Well, don was doing the layout last i heard...
I don't think Don is going to be doing the layout. He shut down Trek-RPG.net because he had to many things going on and one of them was was the working on Trek stuff. I think Don said that before he decided to take a break. When did Don say he was going to work on the layout? I could be wrong.

Ahh, we've been playing pass the buck on this for what, 2 or 3 years now. I'm finding the whole thing both frustrating and hilarious at the same time. If it weren't for the whole Spacedock being free fan built material I think we would have all been fired.
Now as for the original document, I have a copy of the pre-edited version only.

The version I have is pre-proof-read, no spell checking, un-checked math etc...
I'm just looking for a copy of the original pdf steve send out, so that I could try and copy/reconstruct the backround... with that a copy of the old KSRM i could probably figure out what the type sets where supposed to be like, too. Here, email me a copy at madmanofprague at gmail .Quote:

Nope, not here, sorry, i offered Steve to help a while back but you guys offered :) Being a novice at this stuff i stepped back, would love to see the file though, for ideas if nothing else.

I emailed it to steve. no idea if he still has it, or if it was actually distributed. i no longer use the email i talked to him with at that time.

I'm not a fan of Spacedock, so I'm leaving myself out.. but, why not someone just do this themselves as an Icon resource? I mean, there's only five Romulan ships that are 'canon' anyway...

True, but we've added several new designs, 7 of which came out of the ICON Romulan Box Set. Also the conversion from SD to ICON is silly simple as one is just the extension of the other within the same rules set.Quote:

Uncertain. I'd like to find the original pdf that had the backrounds I made in Indesign, as my own copy of the file seems to be AWOL (I have an idea of where it may be, but I don't know where that is; trust me, it makes sense). Lacking that, all I'd need would be the style/formatting notes (either from steve or someone else that worked on an SRM) and time to fix it all. I have the revised post-playtest version of the text, it just needs to go throught the shiny-maker.Quote:

So far as I know, we both have permission from Steve to host it. When TrerkRPG closed down, all content was transferred to Memory:ICON (including, explicitly, permission for the upcoming SRM), and when it re-opened We worked out a deal to mirror everything on both sites. So far as I know, nothing has occurred to change that situation.
Alright, I'll send it both places when I'm done.
Phoenix, f Steve does reply, can you tell him to drop me a line at the email on my profile here?
As an aside, I don't think the Nemesis ships are in there–at least, I'm not aware of what Steve's named the warbird class, and 'Valdore' doesn't show up in any searches.

Perhaps we should try to get a 'preliminary' version out, so that at least those people that have been putting campaigns on hold because they're waiting for the Rom SMR can continue. After that we can wait/work on the complete perfect laid out version, after that we can add the Nemesis as appendix and then another complete version.
Also the prelimibary version will ofcourse result in minor corrections that can be immediatly incorporated in the final version.

The difference between the preliminary version and the perfectly-laid-out one would be about a day. The bulk of the work is applying the standardized text formats to the templates so that what's what is clear, and making sure everything fits in its space without gaps or cutoffs, which is basic readability stuff.Quote:
