1. Bannockburn is the location of a1314 battle in which Robert the Bruce led the Scots to victory against England (and relieving Stirling Castle), effectively ending any English "pretentions to control the northern British kingdom" (quote is from the BBC website). This victory led to the eventual securing Scottish sovereignty (in 1328) until the unification of the two kingdoms in 1707.

2. The colored cubes are one of the meals produced by "food processors" (look at a number of the TOS episodes to find them. However, the processors are also able to produce recognizable meals (chicken soup in the episode "Tommorrow is Yesterday"). They may be able to produce a three-course steak dinner, but basic meals are certainly viable.

Also, on the ship, it's probably safe to say that there's a full-sized galley (like the one seen in Star Trek VI) for meals (especially for officers).

Now this almost makes me reconsider my vote for a station-based game, but only "almost". ;)
OTOH, you are stuck on your ship, while we station officers have all the ammenities available that a station - with all it's civilian shops - can offer. :p;)

No steak dinners, just liquids and cubes. :) Yes the ship has a limited galley (This ain't no Connie after all ) and the station has a replimet, and at least one or two restaurants. :)

It is a K-7 stype station, ain't that many "ammenities" since most of it is cargo space. In fact if you look at the model, the large metal disks are nothign but cargo space. :)

Which would be fine for the K-7 station that was supposed to serve as a supply base for coloinzation efforts, but DS6 has quite a different role (or maybe not, but at least it doesn't have to be like K-7).
And all the "cargo-station" thing aside, this place has been used by civilians/smugglers/pirates for about 20 years, so I figured there would be a lot of businesses making use of that 'cargo space', even after Starfleet cleared out the worst of the troublemakers.
Now this may just be me, but with the background you set up for the station I figured it would have a lot of civilian operations on board, regardless of the type of station.

There is one restuarant/bar and one trading post (owned by the same guy). Your choices are limited to say the least :) This is a long cry from DS9.

It is not a bustling environment. Also the smugglers and illeagal traders weren't creating a casino in space, they were using it as a trading station for illeagal stuff. Sure there might have been a dicing hall or two opened in the cargo area, but Starfleet has cleared that stuff out for the most part.

Stop thinking DS9, this is nothing like that. This is not a city is space. It is a small town. A frontier outpost. There are the following businesses on the station...

1] Bar/Restuarant
2] Trading Post (In the back of the bar)
3] Cargo Facilities
4] Minor repair facilities, designed for small ships.
5] Replimat (all the food cubes you could want, for a price).

Other than station quarters, there aren't that many places for rent to sleep even. Most traders simple sleep on their ships. The place can't even dock ships either. Look at the model. It is not that big a place.

Well it is and it isn't. As Spock says, most of it is uninhabitable, storage without even life support.

I jsut want this clear, since as you said you have a view of DS9 as your ifluence.

I might also add, the above reasons are why I dropped using a K-7 type station the first time around, too limited.

You know, I couldn't care less.
If the security guys want to care about weapons thta's fine by me. All I have to worry about is that those same security people are aware of who is going to put them back in one oiece after the firefight. If they remember that I shouldn't have to worry about protecting myself. :D

I won't give you a negative modifier for the medical facilities, but they are not considered "well equiped" by any stretch of the imagination. Basically treat your sick-bay as the kind of place you NEED to upgrade. Starfleet promises to get you the stuff, you just have to keep at them :)

And if not all of it, how much of it could possibly be converted to useful space, considering existing life-support cpacitiy?
