Lots of good stuff there. Thanks to the contributors, and to Patrick for keeping the site going.
Okay, this is what happens when you don't update for, oh, a year. You get a bucketload of updates, with more to come. Tonight's update features several new ships, a set of house rules, some character generation options, and an 80-page mini-campaign.
And there's more to come in the next few days and nights.
Looking forward to it. Thanks for all you do, Patrick! :)
Will be taking a few days off from the updates to give my brain a rest and to get some work done on a couple of my own Trek projects. Will get back onto the updates (becuase I still have a pile of them) sometime this weekend, probably on Sunday.
Well you've certainly earned the break.
Pfffffft. That's gracious of you, but considering how long I put off updating things to start with....
Turns out I didn't have to wait until tonight after all. More update goodness on the website. New ships, updated ships, new rules expansions! Enjoy!
New updates on the website. Some new ships, some updated ships, an Abrams-Trek adventure, and a new external blog link. Enjoy!
I like the updates, keep 'em coming!
That depends entirely upon people submitting things. I've got some backstock of adventures, though it would always be nice to get more. I've got a couple of projects that I'm working on for myself. But other than that...well, I need people to send me things. :)
Funny, that almost sounds like a hint...:)
About to put this weekend's update together. If anyone wants to contribute something for this one, speak now or forever hold your peace. At least until next weekend. :)
Okay, got started on tonight's update but as it was a really busy day I didn't get started until late. There are a few ships up tonight; tomorrow night, I'll get the rest of the stuff that's been sent to me so far (so an adventure, a few more ships, and some ship construction stuff). If you've got anything you want to add to the list, this would be a good time to send it to me.
Finished the update I began last night, and as of an hour ago I'm more or less current (though i've got a load of adventures that have been sitting on ye olde hard drive for a while that I've still got to upload). Tomcat's got the next issue of the zine in layout; it'll get a release once he's done.
I'm still contemplating the future of the zine. We'll see what happens.
Next weekend looks to be adventure-heavy as I go through all the ones Roger Taylor sent me and get them loaded. Anything else...well, people need to send me more stuff so I can add that to the pile.
Patrick, I loved the latest update. Lots of great ships.
I can't wait for the newest issue of Beyond the Final Frontier.
The Mixed Species rules in the last issue were terrific. We use them all the time.
A question for those of you who use the website regularly: When you go to the site, does it automatically, without asking, whisk you off to WebRing instead of letting you see the site? It's done it to me a few times, and I find it irritating. Very tempted to just drop WebRing altogether, but I want to make sure that it's not just me.
Its only happened to me once, but it was just last week.
Well, they've not brought me any traffic that I can tell; I'm seriously considering just dropping them completely.
Yup, doing the WebRing thing to me now as well, hasn't happened before.
Another update. A couple dozen ships, a couple of character option booklets, some new and updated ship construction stuff. There will be some adventures later.
Another update. This one consists of one new alien species and a pile of adventures. Among those, there's a complete campaign setting, "The Shattered Stars," and the first four adventures associated with it. Tremendous thanks to Roger Taylor for providing so many adventures to the site!
Where can I find Roger's first 2 parts to Blood and Honor, the Klingon adventure?
They are in issues 9 and 10 of the zine, Owen. Here are direct links.
Issue 9, featuring "Blood & Honor: The Attack"
Issue 10, featuring "Blood & Honor: The Raid"
I get the Web-ring re-direct when I use the Opera browser (which we have installed at work) and access the BtFF site from the "Speed Dial" function in Opera. I don't get the redirect at all in Firefox. And I've only gotten it once using the link in my Bookmarks Toolbar in Google-chrome.
The thumbnail generated for the page in Opera is of the Webring page, and not the actual site.
Think it's a browser thing ?
I just downloaded Shattered Stars, as well as several of Roger Taylor's other adventures. I'm especially interested in running some of his 23rd century adventures for my "Movie Era" crew.
Great job, on all the adventures, Roger (if you happen to read this). I look forward to more in the Shattered Stars campaign !!
Assuming Patrick approves everything I've sent him, there'll be eleven more Shattered Stars adventures posted.
I've got 2-3 more in review but I'm not terribly sanguine about them.
Ironically, all the cleaning/polish generated ideas for several more adventures in that setting.
The three part Klingon mini-campaign I mentioned above takes place in the same sector- and explains what happened to Romulan Outpost 26.
Okay, the latest test of my new update system is successful. There is a minor update up, a chargen supplement for Roger Taylor's Shattered Stars campaign. The remainder of those adventures will probably be up sometime tomorrow. Maybe tonight if things go exceedingly well, but I'm shooting for tomorrow.
Okay, circumstances conspired to let me post this update earlier today than I expected. All 15 of the Shattered Stars adventures are now up in the Roger Taylor Commemorative Adventures Section, so you 24th century players are going to have a lot of material to work with!
Also got the link to the Crew Replicator fixed with a timely assist from Wayne, the creator of said Crew Replicator.
Patrick, that is a terrific update !!
I loooooove Roger Taylor's work, so the more the merrier. And that booklet he wrote on the RRTs & Marines is fabulous. We'll definitely be using that.
Lots of great updates recently. Great work !
There's some pretty fantastic stuff there. Especially since my campaign is set on the Federation/Romulan border (though a few years earlier than Shattered Stars appears to be). I plan to mine this stuff for sure. Thanks so much! :)
Any ETA on the next issue, Patrick?
You know, I sent the last piece off to Tomcat a while ago. I should shake his tree on that one....
