Ok, we have the possiblity that Tal Shiar could mean "swift death". One question AR what, if you can find it, does Diann mean? As in Tal Diann, the military intelligence branch.

Yes, I would absolutely love for you to try and arrange for them to send it to me, that would be really great. E-mail me with results (the e-mail in my profile is accurate for the next little while). If they won't do it then by all means let me know anyway and maybe we'll be able to werk something else out.

Well, I found Vulcan "Daya", meaning "effect". So, how about "effective"? This means we have the "swift death", and the "effective death". From their names, I would say they are rivals.
Oh, and the security clearance "shaya". I was thinking about it. I suspect that it just means "secure", related to the Vulcan "shar". It just seems logical for a security classification.
Any thoughts?

Slan agat!
Oh, big time. Like the KGB and GRU in the old soviet union. GRU was the military intel.

The next thing I hope to post here is my idea of the Praetorian-class Dreadnought. Been running ideas for the past couple of weeks. As soon as I have something concrete I will post it here.

I have ICON stats for a Romulan gunship, that I had been meaning to translate into Spacedock.
The concept of the vessel is that the Romulan technicians that fitted the cloaking device to the USS Defiant took as much (If not more) data then they were supplying in a successful Intelligence op, and this new ship is the equivalent of the Defiant, incorporating the Romulan take on ablative armour and Phased Pulse Disruptors...

hehehe, the Phased Pulse Disrutors were simply the application of Pulse Phaser to disrutor technology.Quote:

I hadn't decided totally if the Romulans simply lifted the entire design and built copies of the Defiants Pulse Phasers or if they had converted it to Disruptor tech...
1 is a simple name change, and the other would alter the Spacedock SU cost...
But the basic workings are exactly that of the Pulse Phasers. More powerful, Repeatng, Forward-Firing weapons...
When I get home, I will repost the ship for discussion and good clean fun, in the name of D'era of course...

Very nice work on the language and ships but we all should remember that the Romulans have no Honor and operate through lies and deseption. But then thats what appeals to most of you!
I was toying with something like that, only in my idea I had a Romulan agaent lift it right out of a computer at Utopia Plantia. Note this was only an idea, it never came to pass in the game. http://www.trekrpg.net/Board/ubb/biggrin.gif The ones used in the design of the defiant. I forgot about the Romulan engineers who installed the cloak on the Defiant. I was thinking of incorporating them into the Praetorian-class design I have in mind.
