OOC ok then Solek will assist Mort as Mort has the actual Engineering skill.
OOC: I had Gir head down to the engineering section to await assignment...so, any assignment?? :D
Well, the obvious thing would be to assist ops. But whatever you feel like... :pQuote:

You roll 2d6 and add your skill modifier for the final result.
So your roll is:
Systems: Sensors 8 + rolled 11 for 19, success.
BTW simkn, your character sheet has two different numbers, 3 and 6, which is your total? I went with a median number of 8 for this roll. Just a reminder that your specializations do not add to your total modifer in Coda... you simply add two to your roll if you are using a relevant specialization.
OOC: I will assume this means power has been rerouted to the sensors. Let me know if otherwise! As for my Systems Op skill, sorry for the confusion; I was unsure how to convert from LUG in certain situations. I suppose the best interpretation would be to use 6 as the skill, before the specialization bonus (8 including the bonus), with two specializations: sensors and shuttlecraft.
Mort quickly notifies the Commander that sensors are back online. Assuming her next wish will be to figure out what the hell is happening, he will immediately start scanning for anything anomalous, especially the "energy signatures" mentioned earlier over the comm.
There appears to be no trace of the mysterious energy signatures detected earlier. However, internal sensors reveal an anomaly: unidentified biosignatures, located near the docking ports... and moving slowly into the central hub of the station.Quote:

[insert suspenseful music here :p]
Mort exclaims to all present in Ops, especially Julath and Taj: "Intruder alert! Unidentified biosignatures near the docking ports! And they're on the move!"
Perhaps he is overreacting a bit.
Or perhaps not...
Shocked, Julath half-runs over to the sensors console and looks at the readings. Then, turning to Taj, she says, "Lieutenant, assemble security teams. Intercept the intruders at as many possible points, and try to keep them away from the central habitation areas." Taj nods, and heads off, motioning for several personnel to follow.
Ooookay...Quote:

IC: Upon hearing the intruder alert, Gir sprints over to one of the weapons closets and draws a sidearm. As he moves back to his station, he shouts, "Secure the doors! Everyone gets a sidearm!"
Once back at his station (system status), he flips the comm switch. "Laran to Ops. Engineering secured and locked down; standing by."
While he waits, he checks system status.
OOC: Since Gir only has Systems Engineering as a skill (he's a specialist, after all), I figured his station would be to manage power distribution, repair, and upkeep of all non-propulsion, non-power systems on the base (i.e., comms, sensors, life support, weapons, etc.). (That's a fairly wide range of responsibilities, so I would expect it would naturally fall to a higher-ranking officer than a normal substation would.) :)
Mort will look to the Commander for further instruction. Unless told otherwise, he will continue his sensor scans. What more can he learn about the intruders? He will attempt (manuever roll?) to determine more details about their biosigns... Are they humanoid? Microscopic or macroscopic? Carbon based? Are they carrying anything non-organic, such as weapons or equipment? How fast are they moving? Any pertinent information will be relayed to Taj and her security team to aid their efforts in confronting the mysterious presence. Mort is glad at this moment that he is in the relative safety of Ops and not in Taj's shoes! However, he will gladly pick up a phaser and charge into the fray if so ordered by his Commander.
As for the energy signatures, Mort will ask Lt. Solek for his opinion: "What could it have been? Any ideas on how to find any traces of it?" He will also consult the sensor logs to refer to the initial reading taken while he was at dinner. (OOC: Perhaps the investigation of the energy signatures would be best reserved for later, after the crisis resolution, but it is an investigation Mort would eventually like to pursue with Solek's assistance -- or more likely, assist Solek.)
OOC : Has every station been notified of the intruder alert ?
And are there some medical sensors in sickbay (I know we never saw that on screen, but it would seem logical that sickbay had a way to control the health of the people inside the station) ?
Every station has been notified of the alert... I believe that's standard Starfleet procedure. And if it isn't... well, it is now. :DQuote:

OOC : Thanks for the precision. :)
And how about the medical sensors in sickbay ?
If by "medical sensors" you mean readout/scanning instruments, the answer is yes.Quote:

Solek scans the area where the anomalous life form readings seem to have origionated from with a broadband sensor sweep on both EM and Subspace Frequencies. He will also try a Tachyon Scan to try and detect any cloaked vessles. these scans will be cross-refeanced with the sensor logs of the energy readings, with Mort's assistance of course.Quote:

If possible, Solek would also like to try and assertain what species the life form readings are.

Systems Operation Rank 7 + (2d6=10) = 17, success.
Despite success on your roll, there seems to be no record of these species in any of the station's databases. However, the computer records the file into the database for further reference.
Detecting cloaked ships:
Systems operation Rank 7 + (2d6=7) = 14, result hidden*
There doesn't seem to be any sign of cloaked vessels in the area. You think something might have passed through the sensor grid for a split-second, but it may be a glitch. If the vessels were cloaked, they may have left the area.
* - If I say a result is 'hidden' it means it is a roll where degree of success or faliure determines the results of, say, a sensor scan, and I don't WANT you to know how well you did... you'll have to figure that out on your own. I have now made my first EVIL GM DECISION of the game
:D
