Nope, that is a swiped Oberth-class sensor suite, 'cause the FJ manual had the big dishes as main sensors, and this made more sense. :)

I concur. :( I know a lot of people love the Oberth, but I'm not that fond of it, so having a "replacement/alternate" ship would have been cool.

Actually, I hate the damn thing. I wouldn't if TNG didn't use the same damn model for everything from a shuttlecraft to a super-dreadnought.... heh. But, considering its heavy use, it obviously becomes the surveyor of choice for two generations.

Yeah, well, about half of those occurances were civilian models, so apparently, the Oberth class was cheap as dirt.

I'm going to make a 'stat' recommendation here. The 'megaphasers' on the upper part of the hull should probably be either statistically Excelsior-era phasers on large mounts ... or, instead... a self-contained (as in, independant power source) phaser system with forward-arc only firing.

Lacks some sense of proportion on the secondary hull, but I actually see this much more as the predecessor to the Connie (as she was in the Spaceflight Chronology) than the stuff we've been given sense.

If I were free to do up my own lines, I would probably widen the secondary hull and make the fit more 'natural'.

Oh it's not your work, the Baton Rouge Class has always looks bad. The Secondary hull isn't all that bad, it's the bulky impulse drive that makes it look...tweeked.
