Okay, I had to search through the archives to make sure I haven't posted this already. :)
Sea Tyger is an adaptation of a nickname I earned in the Navy. "Tyger" was my nickname for a long time (partly because I'm Missourian [university's mascot] and I have an affinity for big cats). I had "Tyger J" embroidered on the back of my Navy ball cap (J being short for Jones, my last name), and people in the shop started calling me "Tygerjay."
Anyway, I use "Tygerjay" as a username for many accounts, so I decided I needed a second username. Being a Navy vet, using "Sea" in front of my original nick seemed appropriate (and also made it sound like the name of a WWII-era submarine :) ).
Of course, people still think my real name (Davy Jones) is actually a pen name. ;)

Coming from the "Better late than never Department"...
Nicholas Ramage is the hero of a set of historical novels -- Napoleonic-era Royal Navy. I took him because he was a bit less obvious than Jack Aubrey or Horatio Hornblower... ;)
I probably should have chosen a name from the O'Brian books, just because they are BY FAR the best written, but at the time it seemed good :D

Any particular reason to resurrect this old thread other then to let peple know your here? ;)
A new thread would have sufficed.

Steele is the name of a Paladin NPC I had in mind for a D & D campaign that was running, I then began to use the name for a Paladin I play in someone elses game now. Steele is also the last name of the Captain of the USS Infinity the ship for several Star Trek adventure I have ran in the past.

Well, for the longest time, my home machine has been a step or three behind the state-of-the-art, because I don't especially care about having the latest bells, whistles, & go-faster stripes. I used an 8088 from 1988 to 94 or so, when I upgraded to a 386. Still using a 40 meg HD, and DOS 5.0. Next I went briefly to a 486, and then to a P1-166 with a huge 1GB drive and Win95, in 1998. It stayed that way until 2001, when I finally went to a spiffy Celeron 700 & a quarter gig of memory, & 8 gig drive. A fatal OS crash later, and I'm running 98SE, and that's the point I'm going to be at until forced, kicking and screaming, to upgrade again. (Not counting additional drive space, that is. Space is at a premium since I've discovered Anime Music Videos...) The odd spelling of Cyber-Luddite is due a ten character limit. I don't use my real name on line much, due to having to constantly state that I'm not related tot he Astronaut... (That should leave y'all guessing for a while, assuming I don't have it in my user profile. :D )

Mine is just my character's name from the first LUGTrek we played. He was a semi-NPC most of the time, my character, the CMO, while I narrated.
Doctor Michael Barratt (Lt. Cmdr). :) 3/4 Human, 1/4 Betazoid, and his empathy is barely there, but tends to home in on pain a whole lot... Career choice became clear once that started at puberty...

Obscure Simpsons reference. I was trying to come up with an email address name at the same time I saw the Simpsons episode where Lisa and Bart were on the Small-World-clone ride at Duff Gardens. Bart dares Lisa to drink the water the little boats are floating in; Lisa winds up on a wild acid trip and at the end she announces "I am the LIZARD QUEEN!!!" It just stuck. :D

With a complete lack of unoriginality, my handle comes from my initials... it's C.V., so I just converted the V from its Roman numeral value (5) and voilà!
Plus, at the time, one of my gaming friend had a reputation of loving to blow things up with C4 (or whatever explosive existed in the current universe, for that matter), so I found it funny to make an upgrade.
When I play online with friends, I usually take the name Fénix or Tassadar, from my old SW character called Fénix Tassadar (and yes... I was deep into StarCraft when I created this character ;))

I have been an assistant killer whale trainer for sometime... and worked a lot with these animals. Later, when I played in some metal bands, nicknames were needed, so I made something with the tag KW.
What's funny is IRL, people call me "admiral" since I'm the GM of our campaign, being the reverse as in here ;)

Well, my PC's full name is Capt. Matthew.J.Hunter of the USS Tempest. First two names are my own, last name just sounds better than the real thing (Hegarty - darn Irish ancestry :)). Hero of the Dominion War, Borg Ass-Kicker extraordinaire...
-
My handle is from a character in a screenplay I wrote on ancient Egypt. Ineti's a scribe in Pharaoh's service. :)

Re'k of Danar Town (character sheet) was my third Trek RPG character. I'd just read Peter David's "New Frontier" novels, so I created a Xenexian. After fighting to liberate Xenex he found he was still a soldier without a war, so he joined the Starfleet RRT. The game started after the Dominion War, Re'k was transferred to the security department of an explorer (non-RRT) ship, and Re'k was finally forced to struggle to fit in to a society that wasn't fighting.

Mine is shortened from my E-mail address Captkarg, which of course sounds Klingon because most of my friends say i was born a Klingon
