Last night at work I was pondering the idea that Lore has back up plan in case he is de-actived .
One idea is that a team is hired by stand by computer program .
Idea two is that totally evil creatures called lawyers demand that he is part back together for his trail .
Who's to say that Bruce Maddox - the scientist who wanted to dissect Data - isn't going to look Lore over? Sure, Lore was 'evil', but that was just a malfunction. It can be put right... Just put all the parts back together and...:eek:
I wonder if Lore would be considered a Federation citizen.
Lore would have the same rights to sentient status as Data as of Measure of a Man. Or I'd think he would. Which means he is probably considered a Federation citizen.
What if he has some kind of safeguard program like Data's self-correcting mechanism ? And when Lore is deactivated, this program runs automatically, reactivating him after a certain amount of time has passed ?
So, if Lore is to be considered a Federation citizen, that would mean Data committed cold-blooded (well... more like cold-circuited) murder ?
Apart from that, maybe there is some earlier Soong-type android (older than B-4) somewhere else that Lore would have found and on which he could have imprinted his memory, much like Data did in Nemesis with B-4. And those memories would eventually awaken, maybe after some trigger.
And for something nastier, Lore could have used the same B-4, the one that apparently becomes Data again after Nemesis... Just for those who like Jeckyll-Hyde scenarii.
Well, I believe that Data's "mom" said they had a few failed prototypes before Data (the number 3 sticks out in my head); B4, Lore, and ?. (Does Data have another long lost sibling out there? And how many 'replicants' did Dr. Soong make? (remember, his widow is actually an android replicant; who's to say Soong didn't remake him self, or his best friend, or his favorite Barista?):p
But seriously, what if Lore did reactivate, at the Galor IV facility. Since they would be warry to reassembleing him, maybe they would just plug him into a computer unit, so they can study his neural pathways. But, if Data can plug into Locutus and influnce the Borg, perhaps he could seize control of the base. Using all the advanced AI projects there to become a threat again (hey, all that android tech Kirk found had to go somewhere); imagine Lore, in a new, superior body, coming after B4, not realizing (or caring) that Data was gone.
Juliana Tainer (nee Soong) told Data they'd built 3 prototypes before making Lore - all 3 suffered from the same fatal breakdown as Lal did...
No idea how B-4 fits in here, but Noonien Soong seemed to keep on pulling positronic rabbits out of the hat.
That depends on whether deactivating Lore consisted of a 'fatal' act. I mean, really, every time you're shutting off the EMH you're killing that instance of his program.Quote:

Disassembling Lore was not murder, it was a necessary means to take him into custody. At any rate, Data could be considered his next of kin. Just because Data was ruled sentient, that doen't mean Lore gets any of his protection under the law. Besides, Lore is a know enemy belligerent who has committed acts of aggression against the Federation. Keeping him disassembled is the best way of keeping him in custody.
Lore would be considered sentient, he's functionally identical to Data, and B-4 would be considered "developmentally challenged" and unable to care for himself.
If Lore was reactivated, he'd be under strict security and kept away from any technology he could exploit. This doesn't mean he couldn't escape, or be broken out.
what if a group of Lore's former Borg drones were to break him out ?
A few reason why they would take such actions . .
Revenge for Lore times as their leader .
They want him to lead them again .
Their want to return the gift of freedom to the one who save from death on the Borg cube .
Possible, but unlikely. With Lore gone the leadership would fall to Hugh, who's commited to spreading individualism. Liberating Lore would be counter productive.Quote:
